MEDIA NOT HAPPY BUT ARE THEY EVER WITH POTUS?
Keep the Truth coming Mr. President
Keep on Tweeting!
He tells it like it is.
FakeNews reporter asked POTUS if he was aware Paul Manafort was sharing polling data with the Russians. The failing NYT already had to correct that story.
Correction: January 9, 2019
A previous version of this article misidentified the people to whom Paul Manafort wanted a Russian associate to send polling data. Mr. Manafort wanted the data sent to two Ukrainian oligarchs, Serhiy Lyovochkin and Rinat Akhmetov, not to Oleg V. Deripaska, a Russian oligarch close to the Kremlin.
Last month I posted that Trish Reagan had said that on January 10 Maduro would not be recognized by many nations as the legitimate leader of Venezuela.
I wondered this morning if anything would happen.

Schumer is now on floor. Trying to get Senate to start considering House passed spending bills to end shutdown. Is expected to be blocked. Schumer describes the President as intransigent. He also whipsaws McConnell for not helping to end the shutdown.

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) asks unanimous consent on flr they pass one of the spending bills to end the shutdown. McConnell intercedes. Says the last thing we need to do is trade pointless, absolutely pointless show votes back and forth across the aisle.

McConnell objects, blocking Cardin in effort to pass Hse spending bill to re-open parts of govt. McConnell calls it a show vote.
Cardin sharply tells McConnell I can tell the Majority Leader this is not a show vote.

Oh yeah, things are good. Just had some computer/financial stuff to take care of and didn’t want to overdo my time using my fingers.
How are you? How’s the weather?
Create a lie & repeat it over & over again - the "Wrap-up Smear"
I think Trump is rubbing off on McConnell. LOL
Hang in there Mitch!
Having some weird sleeping time with temperature drops, airplanes flying over from midnight to dawn and a soy reaction. Sleep for many hours. Up for a few then back to sleep. And repeat. Thank God we don’t have to be anywhere at any specific time. Pups and I shared big buttered popcorn two nights in a row.
Good morning Rusty! How are you doing?
Well real coq au vin is supposed to be made with an old rooster and cooked all day, with wine added. Mine is nothing like that :-) I use cut up chicken thighs tossed with flour and then brown it. Add carrots and celery and onion. I skipped the wine. In the necessary ingredient is herbs de Provence. I get it at our local Amish store, and it has lavender in it and all sorts of wonderful spices. I wish I could find more dishes is it in. I could probably throw it on some potatoes and roast them and it would be good.
And I serve it with crusty bread, because the broth is so good. I should find you the real recipe because I think I left out a lot :-)
Coq au Vin
24 to 30 pearl onions
3 boneless chicken thighs
1/4 to 1/2 cup flour
2 Ts water
6 ounces bacon
1 T unsalted butter
2 (750-ml) bottles red wine
2 Ts tomato paste
1 medium onion, quartered
2 stalks celery, quartered
2 medium carrots, quartered
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1½ tsp herbs de provence
1 bay leaf
2 cups chicken stock or broth
Cook pearl onions. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and sprinkle on all sides with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Place the chicken pieces, a few at a time, into a large (1 or 2-gallon) sealable plastic bag along with the flour. Shake to coat all of the pieces of the chicken. Remove the chicken from the bag to a metal rack. Cook the bacon until crispy, remove and set aside. Using the remaining fat, add the pearl onions, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and saute until lightly brown, approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Remove and set aside. Next, brown the chicken pieces on each side until golden brown, working in batches if necessary to not overcrowd the pan. Remove. Pour off any remaining fat and deglaze the pan with ~1 cup of the wine. Add chicken stock, tomato paste, quartered onion, carrots, celery, garlic, thyme, and bay leaf. Add all of the remaining wine. Add the chicken and cook for 1½ to 2 hours, or until the chicken is tender. Maintain a very gentle simmer and stir occasionally. The last 30 minutes, uncover to reduce the sauce. Once the sauce has thickened, add the pearl onions and cook for another 15 minutes or until the heated through.
I usually don’t have pearl onions so I substitute a cut up onion or 2. And I leave out the wine and add more chicken broth. The broth has a delightful flavor, nice and rich and good for soaking up with crusty bread.
I’m still not sure about my arm strength for making bread, even though I use a mixer. But I have some frozen baguettes from Sam’s Club that need to be used up so this is a good opportunity.
Everything is fine here.
Expecting a storm later today but this may just be some rain as it is supposed to warm up to 50* today, we shall see.
The news is really making me angry, the lefties have become so unhinged I can’t read or watch.
But I have great faith that our President will prevail.
Sounds good! I bet your husband is glad you are able to cook again.
Thanks , ma.
Here you are cooking something fancy and I’m happy with myself because I have pinto beans and ham in the crock pot. LOL
And it is raining now at 34*, hope it turns to snow.
Or if you live around here
It’s stopping by the bag store (liquor) for a bottle of cheap wine/vin and then driving thru KFC next door!
Glad you made the trip safely and have a warm place to rest in.
RIP Lucy.
