Well, this seems to have become an annual event. Alone on Christmas Eve, reaching out to my fellow FReepers.
Myself, I have my daughter's hermit crab for company. And some great classical Christmas music. And, a little later, George Bailey and friends via BluRay.
Anyone else spending this evening solo?
Yes, but visiting family tomorrow.
Hope you’re all enjoying a quiet Christmas Eve.
Very beautiful
Thank you!
In a sense yes. I have intractable excruciating pain while everyone else is happy as hell. My two dogs are the only ones I can relate to. Most miserable Christmas ever.
I’ve spent Christmas Eves and Christmases in many ways — completely alone, in the middle of celebration and chaos, and various places in between. All have been fine.
Yes
I am with my wife, but we spend part of this time contacting and catching up with our single friends.
We are all connected with each other and with God, even when we are alone.
My heart most goes out to the lonely to be strong in times of weakness. Without another who cares for you, it can otherwise seem difficult. I know, because I was single most of my life. It was something I adjusted to being, but felt even more relaxed with I got married.
It is hard to be single. It is hard to be married with a difficult person, too, though.
They asked a married guy that, he said, yes i am, i’m with my wife.
Equal number of folks asking if people, who are with people, wish they were alone...
I am alone. But thats not really true... nor is it for you. The FReepers are here, and you have the friendship and good will of a lot of like-minded souls here. Look forward to a wonderful Christmas and, I believe, a REALLY great New Year.
Intend to get some much needed rest and maybe start a jigsaw puzzle.
Merry Christmas to all Freepers.

God Bless you....and a Merry Christmas to you!
I’m home with my mother, who lives with me in my house, so there is that.
Alone with my kitten. And you.
Daughter and SIL came down last night instead of tonight because weather forecast was better. We had a lovely dinner at nice restaurant and trip to store to buy me a new coffee maker.
Alone tomorrow too. Stocked up on good books, a bottle of brandy. Not unhappy.
Merry Christmas, one and all.
What happened to you?
just me and my maneki-neko.
Merry Joyous Christmas to you!
Sir, do not give up hope. It took me until I was practically 40 to find the girl I would marry, and I had the same desires and misgivings.
Keep working on yourself and be sure to find a good woman. For me, I found such a woman outside of the US, but who believes the same in the Bible and God as I do.
It is better to be single than with a poor match.
