Be safe out there, Gran.
Busy day, here, too. Several errands to run.
Millenials and others born in the modern era cannot grasp the impact of the instant communication they take for granted today.
In the WWII era it was often days or weeks or even longer before news of battles and other significant events made it into the newspapers and news magazines or onto the radio.
When men boarded troop ships on voyages to join the battle it could be months or longer before their families had any news of them.
Today they can telephone or message their loved ones from the most remote corners of the world.
Thank you, you be careful too, the shoppers are out zipping here and there tying to complete their gift lists.

I don’t really know how Comey will be questioned.
The usual artificial time limits really are counterproductive to getting at the truth.
I am hoping that the DECLAS of FISA will come right after his testimony is locked in, as the transcript of Comey’s testimony is supposed to be released within 24 hours of the meeting.
It then will be too late for Comey to change his tune.
Good point, Vlad.
My uncle’s ship was sunk by a U-Boat in the Atlantic, the USS Block Island (CVE-21) in May, 1944. It was an escort carrier with 24 aircraft. The U-Boat was then sunk as well.
The news of its sinking was withheld for one year, until after the war in war in Europe ended, so the enemy would not know if they were successful. Also, to maintain morale stateside.
In the meantime, he and almost all of the crew were rescued, brought stateside, and were put intact into the crew of the new USS Block Island (CVE-106), and fought in the Pacific.
It was the first time the Navy put an entire crew from one ship to another.
Six men died in the sinking. Six planes were in the air at the time. Two pilots crash landed by friendly Portuguese shipping vessels and survived. As Portugal was neutral, they were interned until the war ended. Four others headed east toward land and were never heard from again. Not enough fuel.
Such were the daily losses and unknown fates of the time.
Note “Boarder” is misspelled. “A” should not be there.
maybe he dictates...;)
More winning:
No, Obama, you didn’t find that.
It’s not possible, they kept telling us the oil would be all dried up by now. All the dinosaur are dead & not making any more oil. I guess they will have to dim the sun a little more while we use up these reserves.

It has been incorrectly reported that Rudy Giuliani and others will not be doing a counter to the Mueller Report. That is Fake News. Already 87 pages done, but obviously cannot complete until we see the final Witch Hunt Report.

THE GLASS CEILING
On December 8, 1941 the US senate voted unanimously to declare war on the Japanese Empire.
The US House voted 388 to 1 to declare war.
The lone vote against the declaration of war was cast by pacifist Jeanette Rankin (R-MT), the first women to ever be elected to any federal office.
Jeanette was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives by the state of Montana in 1916, four years before women gained the right to vote.
She served one term during which she voted against the US entering World War I.
She was elected to a second term in 1940 during which she cast her infamous vote against the declaration of war on Japan.
To this day Jeanette remains the only female elected to the Senate or the House from the state of Montana.
Although she was a republican she was a political progressive, more akin to a democrat than a republican of today.
She was a pacifist, a suffragist, a prohibitionist and worked as a lobbyist for various pacifist organizations.

Agree...and is by the way correct...it’s spelled bye the way in the tweet.
I ask the same questions about Sessions myself.
What a great tale - Thanks for sharing that with us on this day.
And thanks to your uncle for his service and sacrifices.
Your uncle and his shipmates rank among the many thousands, even millions, of Americans who fought in WWII that I look on as true heroes.
The kind of men and women who built and kept America great in their time.
It upsets me to the point of revulsion when I hear entertainers and sports figures called heroes for making a score in a sports game, for getting a “resist” tattoo,
or for cursing president Trump out on late night TV.
Or even worse, for kneeling during the National Anthem or making a leftist themed movie that bashes America!
These people have no idea of what makes one a real hero.
About 16 million Americans served in the Armed Forces in WWII when your uncle’s ship was sunk.
That was about 11% of the US population at the time.
The equivalent today would be about 36 million serving in the armed forces.
The actual number of active military today is only about 1.4 million - less than ½ of 1% of the population.
Quite different times!
Yes, it will be interesting to find out the true story about Sessions 2 years as AG - was he working hard, or hardly working?
The ashes were put in tiffany blue (the color) boxes.
Malaysia’s gift was in a blue Tiffany (the store) box.
Very true graphic. Crooked Hillary has her tentacles in every scheme of corruption.
Working hard. The progressive had done so much evil just in an attempt to overwhelm the system. IIRC that’s a Clowan-Pivan strategy They are also using it to overwhelm the borders.
