Alan Dershowitz, a frequent defender of President Donald Trump, said special counsel Robert Mueller’s report will be “devastating” for the president.
The Harvard Law professor emeritus told ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos that he believes the president will have to navigate the political impact of a potentially damning final report from the special counsel.
“I think the report is going to be devastating to the president and I know that the president's team is already working on a response to the report,” Dershowitz said on "This Week" Sunday.
Dershowitz added that he believes the report, although it will have a strong political impact, is unlikely to result in criminal charges.
“When I say devastating, I mean it's going to paint a picture that's going to be politically very devastating. I still don't think it's going to make a criminal case,” Dershowitz said.

Every (REPUBLICAN) president going forward will have to have this same ongoing investigation with no limitations. It’s criminal what the deep state democrats and republicans have done here and the long term damage of these actions. It may be the ultimate downfall of this republic.

I’m hoping the strategy here is to hype how bad this report will be for the president, get the libs all frothing with glee, and then release a big nothing burger. Kind of like Rachel and the Tax Form.

I predict that the report will offer nothing new. It may draw conclusions that Trump misbehaved. But that will just feed Trumps “witch hunt” narrative if there is no new evidence.

The report will say that PDJT was born in Kenya, never immigrated legally to USA, stole a social security account, was never eligible for the office, and worked as a puppet of SorozNazi to undermine the defenses and economy of USA for his entire administration, while funding and protecting every anti- American Islamic terrorist gang from the plo- pa to hezbellah to his bff’s in Iran Oh yeah.....

This is a soviet style special counsel coup in search of crimes. It’s been going on for almost 2 years now. Of course they’ve uncovered a long laundry list of ‘crimes and obstruction of justice’. No one would come out clean under such scrutiny.
The house is a lock to impeach and depending on what mueller has, the senate could remove. The rinos and neverTrumpers would LOVE to remove Trump, they just need a legal fig leaf from mueller to pull that lever.
