Why did Republicans lose? One word: McCain

I blame McCain. It was Senator McCain who, out of spite, voted thumbs-down on repealing ObamaCare….

It was Senator McCain who, out of spite, voted thumbs-down on repealing ObamaCare. This failure of Republicans to repeal and replace ObamaCare was a major reason why Republican House candidates lost in close races, especially in the suburbs. Also, largely unnoticed outside of Arizona, Cindy and Meghan McCain refused to endorse Martha McSally, who is likely to lose by a whisker.

I think its time for the Republican Party to officially tell the McCains “officially” join the Democrat Party.

I love America. We spend all this time fixing blame, and almost none fixing the problems.

How about running candidates who can win without having to go through all of this crap? That might mean not running “the next person in line.”

Hopefully that horrible smell you detect is McCain rotting in hell and not NJ garbage dumps. I used to be able to know when I’d crossed the NJ state line by the hideous smell.

I agree.

The Dems appear to have gotten a ton of traction with the “Republicans want to take away your health coverage” line.

If McCain had not stopped the repeal two years ago many of the fixes to things people are concerned about would be well underway by now.

His dead hand landing one last shot from the grave.
It’s location must be classified or everyone would be p*ssing on it.

McCain was a Democrat. The good people of AZ wanted another one and with Flake (the other Democrat) leaving they got their chance.

Well put. One preliminary step that will be necessary will be the elimination of the cash infusion from leftist rich a-holes. Old age attrition will take care of some of this.

McCain’s NOT dead.

He just changed his last name to Romney.

Most people -- especially older people who are core GOP constituents -- loved ObamaCare.

Failure to repeal ObamaCare didn't hurt them. The failure to "fix" it in a way that reduced their premiums almost certainly did.

The GOP Congress had no clear message for voters after eight years of getting almost nothing done. It's that simple.

American politicians will NEVER say no to money.

That is part of the problem. If we set the salary at a million dollars a year, with no donations allowed, we would be better off and we would all save money in the end.

Politicians get rich off of the donors. That should stop.

You’re absolutely right; McCain was the veritable dog in the manger on a lot of things. His effective veto of Obamacare repeal was intended to get back at Trump (he didn’t give a damn about his constituents just as he had sold out the MIAs in Vietnam). This gave the Dems a good issue to run on in states with heavy old folk concentrations like Arizona and probably led to Sinema, who is a first class kook, taking the Senate seat and may have led to Manchin narrowly winning reelection and made Florida easier to steal. And to think that McCain thought so much of himself that he ordered this multiday embarrassment of a funeral fit for a president - with his body displayed in the Capitol??

The other RINOs, Globalists and Swampdwellers could have gone against JohnMcCain’s influence in many other areas, but they chose not to. They too are part of the stagnation problem.

Cindy and Megan surprised me by not doing much of any endorsements. Of course, this is on the heels of J. McCains’ funeral, so Cindy will be very busy settling estate matters.
Megyn will be busy on The View with her crying and her lying.

One thing that gives me hope is that the Libs are doing their post-game analysis and are finding that they had to outspend Republicans by 5:1 or more for each of these House seat flips.

To quote one of their favorite words, that is unsustainable. If Paul Ryan had any interest in actually winning he could have upped the funding to GOP candidates marginally and bled them dry.

No, Ryan.

They should have led with a popular issue - infrastructure. Ryan said no
