DOJ and DHS Issue New Asylum Rule
Applies President’s authority to suspend entry to asylum
Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen today announced an Interim Final Rule declaring that those aliens who contravene a presidential suspension or limitation on entry into the United States through the southern border with Mexico issued under section 212(f) or 215(a)(1) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) will be rendered ineligible for asylum.
The Acting Attorney General and the Secretary issued the following joint statement:
“Consistent with our immigration laws, the President has the broad authority to suspend or restrict the entry of aliens into the United States if he determines it to be in the national interest to do so. Today’s rule applies this important principle to aliens who violate such a suspension or restriction regarding the southern border imposed by the President by invoking an express authority provided by Congress to restrict eligibility for asylum. Our asylum system is overwhelmed with too many meritless asylum claims from aliens who place a tremendous burden on our resources, preventing us from being able to expeditiously grant asylum to those who truly deserve it. Today, we are using the authority granted to us by Congress to bar aliens who violate a Presidential suspension of entry or other restriction from asylum eligibility.”
Section 212(f) of the Immigration and INA states that “[w]henever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
Further, Section 215(a) of the INA states that it is “unlawful…for any alien to depart from or enter or attempt to depart from or enter the United States except under such reasonable rules, regulations, and orders, and subject to such limitations and exceptions as the President may prescribe.”
In Section 208(d)(5)(B) of the INA, Congress specified that the Attorney General “may provide by regulation for any other conditions or limitations on the consideration of an application for asylum.”
Today’s new rule applies to prospective presidential proclamations, and is not retroactive.
Asylum is a discretionary form of relief granted by the Executive Branch on a discretionary basis to those fleeing persecution on the basis of their race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. The rule does not render such aliens ineligible for withholding of removal under the INA or protection from removal under the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

Protesters were demonstrating Friday morning outside the Broward Board of Elections headquarters in Lauderhill.
‘It’s election theft,’ one protester says regarding possible race recounts “It’s election theft,” one protester, Janet Klomburg, said. “Our level of frustration is beyond what you can even imagine.”

“This is insane. All of this is insane,” Klomburg said. “It needs to be stopped. All of it needs to be stopped. I call for firing Brenda Snipes, getting rid of her whole crew and doing the election over without her being a part of it.”
The protesters are upset that Republican Senate candidate Rick Scott and Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis’ victories are now in question.
Three days after the midterm election, their margin of victory has narrowed as Broward County continues counting ballots.
“If it was reversed, there never would have been ballots found,” another protester, Sharon Hamilton, said.
Local 10 News has been told that carts full of untabulated mail-in ballots have now been counted.
Local 10’s Jeff Weinsier asked Snipes Thursday what took so long.
“Other counties didn’t have 600,000 votes out there,” Snipes told Weinsier.
“Well, Miami-Dade did,” he said.
“Well, have you been inside my—nevermind. Let me go check,” she said.
Snipes declined to comment Friday morning about Scott’s lawsuit accusing her of fraud.
Hours later, a series of trucks moved in, blocking the public’s view of the entrance.
More information is expected to be released at 1 p.m. regarding how many more votes there are left to count and when they’ll be counted.
If this is seizure of ballots it should be on the national news!

Here is a video that seems to confirm your posting. It is not possible to determine what is happening in the video except that the warehouse bays are blocked by a ring of unmarked trucks and there are some trucks entering and leaving.
IF ballots are being seized by state or federal authorities that should be on the national news! If ballots are being removed by election officials then that could be criminal activity - chain of custody

200 years ago, there was a class of people in the US known as slaves. They were conscripted to the Southern states to do the back breaking work on plantations...almost always picking cotton. A cash crop commodity for the plantation owners.
They would spend hours a day in heat and humidity picking cotton and carding it (removing the seeds from among the fibers). For most, the slaves were considered property and required to stay on that plantation under threat of their owners.
Every day, they would pick cotton, place it in baskets and heft those baskets on their backs to the carding house (later, the ginning house). That primary cotton was then taken by the owner and sold for a price to a broker representing a large industry (clothing and cloth).
Everyday, picking cotton and giving it to the owner for the owner’s benefit. The plantation owner had value in the cotton. The slaves picked it for him. The slaves had no investment in the cotton they were picking. They just did it. And if the owner was kind, he would clothe them, feed them and tend to their maladies.
Not all owners were that kind to their slaves.
Fast forward to 2018 where slavery is abolished, and the new cotton is votes. Why do citizens keep on pickin’ cotton (votes) and giving them to the owners? (Democrats)?
