President Trump on Wednesday said he has a solution to the abortion rights debate, but did not provide details.
At a wide-ranging and sometimes confrontational press conference following the midterm elections, Trump was asked how he would push forward with his anti-abortion agenda, as promised during the campaign.
I wont be able to explain that to you, Trump said. Because it is an issue that is a very divisive, polarizing issue. But there is a solution, I think that I have that solution. And nobody else does."
The debate over abortion rights is seeing renewed energy following the confirmation of Trumps latest nominee to the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh, a conservative justice, is seen as a potential tie-breaker to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalized abortion in the U.S., should the opportunity arise.
The president offered other vague information about his next moves following the midterms, including potential Cabinet shake-ups and his response to Democrats possibly seeking his tax returns.
Get government completely out of the argument? An argument it should never have been involved with to begin with?

Any solution which keeps tax dollars, at any level, going to anyone who kills babies, is crap.
Keep it legal and let those who support it actually support it with their dollars. Not my dollars. Get the government out of issue which are none of their damn business.
Get federal government “completely out of the argument”
Brain alive vs brain dead or not formed?
Issue an executive order returning the issue officially back to the individual states where it rightly belongs. In the new world of judges making laws, certainly a President can make rulings. It’s Fire with fire time to the death for the survival of this country. No. More. Sitting. Back.
State by state. A number of them would immediately declare it illegal, but cant do so now.
The number one job of the government is to defend the right to life, liberty, and property of its citizens. This is one area where the government should be involved.
I think I agree
Actually I read that a couple of states passed right to life amendments yesterday, so it will go to court. I agree it should be left to the states.
I agree, and if Roe v. Wade is overturned, the abortion issue returns to the states, where it belongs.
Even states which permitted it would probably be forced by voters to limit it severely. Its nationally and globally wrong, but because of our system, I think this is the best way of putting the evil genie back in the bottle.

Probably what trump will do
Men have a solution.
C’mon men. Think (BIG HEAD).
That was guess,too.
Although isn’t State Right some racist throw back to CW1?
You say you got a real solution. We’d all love to hear the plan.
This issue is nonnegotiable. A just society will outlaw abortion.
Maybe should have added a /s on the end of my second sentence?
But he’s not going to tell you.....
The FEDERAL government should be completely out of the abortion argument. In that view, the question should remain entirely a state-by-state issue, not a blanket pronouncement by the US Supreme Court, forcing ALL states to provide access to abortion. This is an issue that should be determined by state legislatures, which are in fact much closer to the constituents than are the members of either the US House or Senate.,
The decision was NOT a legislative decision, it was a judicial one, made on the basis of “penumbras and emanations” that are somehow related to an implied “right to privacy”.
