You are indeed correct. The term ‘propaganda’ seems to have lost it’s bite. The term PSYOP still carries some weight.

Who do we call the enemy? We have a domestic enemy in the media controlled by the-powers-that-be. If it is Americans who are conducting PSYOP, then what?

The Smith-Mundt Act (1948) was the Lodestone of PSYOP for decades. It restricted the military from ‘conducting’ PSYOP directed at US Persons.

Hussein un-did some Smith-Mundt restrictions which allowed him to ‘legally’ expend government money to influence US Persons. I’ll have to dig on when and how, but he did.

Army PSYOP can, and has, been used domestically in times of disaster. They’re not doing influence though, they are used to inform.

They have mobile radio stations, loudspeaker-equipped Humvees, and stuff like that to inform people in a disaster area of how to get relief, etc.

What to call those 4am talking points? Propaganda? Undoubtedly. PSYOP? Absolutely. A coordinated effort across all media deliberately presented to a selected audience.

The key is they do this to INFLUENCE.

At the rally (and the previous one as well), POTUS was practically bursting, wanting to tell us, yet knowing he needs to keep it close to the vest. It was cute to watch him trying to reign himself in, lol.
