Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.

During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.

"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

It seems the men really insist on having corn bread every year to go with the soups. My BIL fixes the BEST bean soup!! He uses turkey of all things. I can't explain the taste because it so amazing. He'll have Brats and hot dogs to go along with all the other different soups. Since chili will be brought they also insist on peanut butter sandwiches as they all had growing up with ten children. Tradition....

Many thanks.

The US Marine Corps Birthday is just around the corner.

November 10 will mark 243 years since the Corps was established in 1775!

(Note to Obama and other illegal aliens: The word "Corps" in US Marine Corps is pronounced "Core" not "Corpse")

I know this is off the subject but it has really been on my mind and really upsets me. We often talk about people not understanding because they haven't been there. You said you walked away...well thankfully we have two Pastors and I can always talk to my other Pastor because the young Pastor has REALLY made me think but I can't seem to get past the incident. And it involves Angels. I told him I felt very comforted because of knowing and seeing Angles around me and my mother experienced them also. He pretty much blew me off...he kept saying God is always there and he took my remark as putting God second. He couldn't understand that we do have Angels by our sides because he hasn't seen them and he wasn't going to take my word for it. How trusting is that? I shared a very amazing moment and also with my mom and he wanted NO part of it as if I was NUTS!! VERY UPSETTING!!! I can't seem to work through this. Its upsetting to sit here and write about it knowing my Pastor's closed mind. Sorry to unload...

Yes, but my husband is one of 7 boys...and they are the majority of the families decisions. They pretty much make the food list for the Halloween Party. The women make up the Thanksgiving food list.

“Did you purchase more breakfast cheese? :-)”

You girls are too funny!

What is your favorite kind of breakfast cheese? I’m having Asiago lately had my breakfast sandwiches, only because it’s what I have handy. It is strangely pretty good. I don’t think my husband would like it.

Last Sunday evening we had a guest singer/guitar player. As he was singing a song about Jesus coming back for us I saw a bright light shine quickly and immediate thought of scripture and the light people report who have had an experience with death. After he finished a member of our congregation (elder) mentioned seeing a flash of light. It wasn’t until this Sunday that I was able to share my experience face to face. After I finahished he confirmed having similar thoughts but was too embarrassed to share with the entire congregation.

I am the light. IN the beginning was the light. We both saw a very short special light glow at just the time he mentioned God coming back for us.

So thankful there was someone to share and understand the experience!

That does sound like he is extremely close minded, especially for a pastor. I hate it when I have to deal with someone like that, because they become hard to talk to in my mind. I don’t want to talk to them about other things either..

Thank goodness you have the other pastor to go to!

I believe in angels also. I had a painting when I was growing up over my bed, of two little girls crossing a rickety wooden bridge and a garden angel looking over them. That gave me a lot of comfort.

Don’t be sorry NIKK. I understand. Some people just can’t think outside the box. I have a few angels. :-)

I adore cornbread! Although, I need to whisper this now, because I will be asked to leave Tennessee if anyone finds out. I do not like Southern cornbread, which is dry and dense, Just corn meal, egg, maybe baking powder if it is a lenient recipe, and salt and butter milk. I like mine like a cake, with some flour and sugar and butter. yum!!!

Although I have to admit a real southern lady here made me cornbread and beans, only her corn bread would be any good in those beans. They just take pieces and mix it with the beans. Their corn bread was perfect for it because it didn’t fall apart or change the flavor too much. But it’s hard to eat by it self! Although she told me when she was little her mother would soak the corn bread in butter milk and sprinkle sugar on top and that would be their snack.

Nice graphic! Yeah, I don’t think the media made fun of Obama at all for that. Or for the 57 states. Really simple things letting should certainly have known.
