It’s a great song. Maybe he just likes it. With all of his success, he must have had to endured more than his share of setbacks over the years. Maybe listening to that song helped him cope.
I have read he likes to use the music of celebrities who claim in public they hate him but live in his buildings. Dont know if its true. Elton John comes to mind.

Trump is just giving Hillary some friendly advice.
Hes a deal maker and thats his credo. In deals you cant always get what you want, but you might get what you need.

Trump's brand of conservatism is all about Americans working hard to get what they need.
That "work hard" philosophy has certainly paid off for him. It does not always succeed -- he has gone bankrupt -- but he just dusted himself and went back to work.
"I might not be what you want, but I'm what you need (even if you don't know it yet)."
That's when the full refrain of not getting what you want, but what you need became relevant and a mainstay of his giant rallies.

But being the businessman he is, he simply paid the ASCAP royalty lease like radio stations must do and came back at them by playing "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at his giant rally a couple weeks later in the hanger at the Phoenix airport.
