Full Headline: Avenatti: Third Kavanaugh accuser will prove credible against Kavanaugh, other privileged white guys who defend him
Julie Swetnick, the third woman to come forward publicly with sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, is willing to take a lie detector test to prove her credibility, her attorney, Michael Avenatti, said in an interview Wednesday.
"This is another strong, courageous woman who feels incredibly strong about her convictions and her allegations," Avenatti said in an exclusive interview with Hill.TV's Jamal Simmons and Krystal Ball.
"I'm looking forward to putting her credibility up against people like Donald Trump, Senator [Chuck] Grassley (R-Iowa), Brett Kavanaugh, [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), and others. All of the privileged white guys that want to come after my client and cast aspersions against her and me. I'm looking forward to doing battle with every one of them," he added.
Avenatti on Monday said he had "credible information" about further sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh.
The attorney, who also represents adult-film star Stormy Daniels in her suits against President Trump, said Swetnick had not taken a lie detector examination before going public with her claim.
Swetnick claims that Kavanaugh attended a party where she was drugged with "Quaaludes or something similar" and attacked by a series of men in a "gang rape."
Kavanaugh has denied Swetnick's charges.
"In approximately 1982, I became the victim of one of these gang or train rapes where Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were present, Swetnick wrote in a sworn declaration to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.
In the interview, Avenatti said his client is willing to take a polygraph test, but would only do so if Kavanaugh also submitted to an examination with the results of both examinations guaranteed to be released to the public.
"She is absolutely willing to take a polygraph examination, provided that Brett Kavnaugh also agrees to take a polygraph examination, and provided that the results of both of those would be independently reviewed by an expert and released to the American public," Avenatti said. "Provided that he'll take one, she is more than prepared to take one and the results should all be released.
Christine Blasey Ford, the first woman to allege sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh, passed a series of polygraph examinations prior to her allegations being made public. Such tests are often cited in the court of public opinion as proof of veracity but are rarely admissible in formal court proceedings.
Kavanaugh has fiercely denied Ford's claim that he pinned her to a bed during a high school party when the two were students in the 1980s and attempted to remove her clothing. He has also denied the allegations from his second accuser, Deborah Ramirez, that he exposed himself to her during a college party when the two were students at Yale University.
In a freewheeling news conference Wednesday afternoon, Trump defended his Supreme Court pick, stating that Kavanaugh has been subjected to "false" attacks. The president said he would watch Thursday's Senate hearing in which Kavanaugh and Ford are scheduled to give testimony.
"Ive had a lot of false charges made against me," Trump said. "People want fame, they want money, they want whatever. So when I see it, I view it differently than someone sitting at home watching television."
But, Trump said, if he could be convinced that Kavanaugh was guilty of sexual assault and lied about it, he would withdraw his appointment.
"If I thought he was guilty of something like this, yeah, sure," he said.
So this is the woman with security clearances from IRS, DOD and I cant remember the other one
Oh yes, you can reliably use “Avenatti” and “credible” in the same sentence. Everybody in my trailer park does.
Umm, 'piling on' you might say? /dry>
Injudicious (C W I D T?) choice of words.
What a blowhard he is.
So what I am getting out of this is, a college woman went to high school parties and messed around with underaged boys. I think what we are reading through her testimony is a confession to her raping young boys.
I never bought that stuff about gang rape trains.
It says more about Avenattis client than it does about Kavanaugh.
The name Brett appears one time.
Had so much fun, she went back for another one the next week.
The only thing this third woman accused Judge Kavanaugh of doing is being in the vicinity. She never says the judge touched her. She alledges no crime against him. Only that he was there drinking.
Stick a fork in it. This whole circus is done, finished, kaput.
Informal Poll:
I graduated in 1977, Mr. Kitty in 1982 (okay, he’s my boy toy - skip it) - did you ever attend a party where a train was happening?? Now, we both attended our fair share of parties back in the day, but neither of us could recall a party in high school or college where any “fun” happened at the actual sight. It always happened out in a car, or people who hooked up would go somewhere else.
So, trains? Are they unusual?
In biker clubs, no.
No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment I shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, says the Lord.
I’m the same age as you - while we weren’t totally innocent, we did NOT do anything like that in public with others watching. In fact, I didn’t learn that one of my best friends had been having sex with her long term boyfriend until years later when we were in college. I think this woman is a nutjob - I just don’t believe anyone in 1982 would have stood around laughing as a line of boys waited to rape a drunk/drugged woman....seriously, how disgusting would those girls have to be to allow something like that?
he’s in deep kimshee after a judge yesterday enjoined all fees he earns on his some 45 (or was it 54?) current lawsuits
Seriously, none of the girls I knew would have ever done stuff lie this. It would have been social suicide.
And in High School - we traveled in packs and if anyone became very inebriated, the rest of us would see them home safely. Where were her friends??
Must have been one heck of a High School ;-)
Another inconsistency: Swetnick claims to be from Montgomery Village, which is just north of Silver Spring, and just south of the Beltway (or was, when I grew up in Montgomery County in the 50’s and 60’s). Yet she is said to have graduated from Gaithersburg High, which is way north of Rockville. Did her family move? Is there another neighborhood north of Rockville which was known as Montgomery Village in 1980?
That is exactly what I was just saying to my husband - we went together in packs - we looked out for each other and would NEVER have left one of our friends to be treated like that. Unreal that she or that porn lawyer think anyone would believe this crap
Montgomery Village is a census-designated place (CDP) in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, and a northern suburb of Washington, D.C.. It is a large, planned suburban community, developed in the late 1960s and 1970s just outside Gaithersburg city limits.
