Recently I spent some time at NJ Best Buy store waiting for service at cell phone department. Loged to their Network and internet access. Loaded FReerepublic page, when trying to load second page, my access got blocked with message about "innapropriet" content. That was it! Looks like communist fingers are getting long.
We are [bleeped]!
Post of the day !
Their web appliance probably uses some generic black list by another company. Best Buy has no idea what freerepublic is or that it even exists.
I’d like to feel some sort of guilt for brick-and-mortar stores, but I really can’t.
They need to jack up their prices. I get it. But I’m finding the same stuff online for sometimes 1/4 the shelf price. And that’s crazy.
The mark-ups go beyond “I have to pay employees well and pay my rent and bills”
We started hearing rumors about their Geek squad, too, and then a friend of my son’s from high school got a job there and worked there for a bit and started warning us to not bring our computers in.
My kids know their stuff and some of the things the Geek Squad members were doing was weird and they didn’t trust them any more.
Plus their prices were going up too much.
You are giving Best Buy your freepname AND password. Please get a VPN and learn how to use it.
I am not privy to that sort of information, but businesses have problems like this. It’s hard to keep the staff under control. That doesn’t mean it’s right, and it doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good idea to avoid them either.
Glad you were able to be warned.
One of the reasons I started going with unlimited access. (That and I wind up working weird hours when stuff crashes at work.)
I use my local best buy regularly. Ink jet cartridges competative. Bought 2 roku streaming sticks after downgrading my spectrum service
Amen!
I've also never met anyone from there worth a damn.
I have a very good customer who owns plants in MN and TX. MN accents and major league conservatives.
They have a pretty low regard for the state’s leftism.
That's nice. What's he make......I'll make sure I never buy it.
“They need to jack up their prices. I get it. But Im finding the same stuff online for sometimes 1/4 the shelf price. And thats crazy.”
Yea. At Alibaba for an order of 10k units.
Frankly, eBay is still the best bet I the internet. I even get Betsey response with shipping than i do from Amazon.
Plus they aren’t the enemy like Amazon and alibaba.
Could be much more related to the blocking software they employ than the store itself.
Ha, I used to go into Best Buy years ago. I always loaded up FR on any PC that had internet and left the page up.
That comment makes no sense.
Boycotting good conservatives because they live in MN?
They also own plants in TX. Does that make you feel better.
Nope, if it comes from MN, I don’t want it. They are useless.
