Satan, the “Great Accuser,” has been unleashed against the bishops of the Church, Pope Francis said Tuesday, in a thinly veiled reference to the former Vatican nuncio to the United States.
The former nuncio, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, recently accused a number of prelates of dereliction of duty in dealing with clerical sex abuse and claimed that the pope had rehabilitated serial abuser Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, elevating him to a position of influence despite knowledge of his misdeeds.
In an 11-page testimony published on August 25, Viganò alleged that he had personally informed Pope Francis in 2013 of the serial homosexual abuse perpetrated by Cardinal McCarrick, along with sanctions imposed on his ministry by Pope Benedict XVI, and yet the pope lifted those sanctions and involved McCarrick in the naming of future bishops.
“The Great Accuser, as he himself tells God in the first chapter of the Book of Job, roams around the earth looking for someone to accuse,” Francis said in his morning homily at Mass in the chapel of the Santa Marta residence in the Vatican.

I’m on the west coast. I was listening to a regular morning news radio show when they interrupted to bring in a breathless reporter who stated that one of the World Trade Center towers had been hit by a small commuter plane, just as you described them saying. They said the building was on fire as a result. At first, I didn’t think much of it, I pictured a small plane and a little fire, maybe smoke coming out a window.
I turned on the TV, I think to Fox news. The video showed a serious fire and a huge, gaping hole. It was an inferno. The building looked to me like a torch on fire, and I knew that there were lots of casualties. It did not seem to me like it could have been a small plane, but I shrugged that off as bad information in the heat of the moment. I woke up my wife and told her she needed to see this. She woke right up. We watched and then the second plane came in and hit the other tower. It hit me instantly. We were under attack.
Anyway, they did initially think the first one was a commuter plane, I don’t know what made them think that, maybe they just couldn’t believe it was anything else and there was no debris.
Hope it was clear that I was joking.

Not surprised. Sally Yates is a partner at King & Spalding. Guess who else was a partner at King & Spalding? Chris Wray. Yates left K&S to work for Obama administration. She recently went back there after Trump axed her. I used to work there. Sleazy lawyers. That’s why Wray hasn’t done anything about the Russia collusion frame up. They’re from the same law firm.
