There are always dangers.

I don’t have a magic ball and I can’t tell you what to do. But if it were me, I’d travel anyway. I would just be extra aware. I’d be sure that I was NOT low on gas when traveling through any urban areas. In fact, I’d try to keep my tank above the halfway mark any time I thought there might be trouble. I’d keep some emergency supplies in my car including food and water. (I do that anyway, especially on a long trip.)
