My guess was that Adm Rogers fully understood how deep the treason went and he wanted to drain the swamp. But he had no one to help him for years. He felt he could trust candidate Trump but could not say things to candidate Trump because candidate Trump was basically a guy in the street with no “need to know”.
But as soon as Trump won the election, Adm Rogers went right over and said (in effect): “Sir, as President of the United States you need to know exactly how deep the treason goes.” And he just laid it all out. I’m sure Trump knew a lot, but not as much as the Adm.

That is certainly possible. Good scenario painting!
... and in addition, it is possible that others, as you allow in your scenario, - whistle blowers, perhaps (William Benny?) had filled Candidate Trump before with most of the details, and then he got the FULL rundown and CURRENT DETAILS at the time from the Admiral for the reasons you cite.
Or.... if we believe Q hints, he was asked by the military to be the Swamp Drainer and to stand as a candidate. It may be possible that when he agreed, and because he did want to save the republic and not to force the military into a corner where an overt military coup would have had to be performed, then as a condition, he may have been given more than an ordinary amount of intelligence from the MI guys...but perhaps not the full download.
Just speculating here on my beanbag.

I’ve never understood why “You can’t always get what you want” was the DJ Trump theme song.
We wanted him, and we got him. It’s not like we wanted something else, and he was the “you get what you need” alternative.
What I got from this is that I was probably putting too much thought into it and normal people just think of it as a catchy classic rock tune, without obsessing over the lyrics.~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
When I went to his rally during the campaign season, I had to ponder that as well. I finally decided when I got home, that he was trolling them.
The SJWs, are always screaming and crying for what they want when they want it “right now,” and will pitch a fit and break things if they can’t have what they want RIGHT NOW..... and so DJT says though the song that they can’t always have what they want, and like a good adult, Trump will give them what they need!
When I thought of that, I loved the song, and have been so glad he’s kept it as a rally theme song!...he’s been trolling the bad guys all along! LOLOL!
