The Morandi Bridge has collapsed in the northern Italian city of Genoa.
The bridge, a part of the A10 motorway, is about 100 metres tall, Italian media say.
There are unconfirmed reports that cars may have been involved.
Photographs from the scene show huge sections of rubble on the ground underneath the middle of the bridge.

talian television showed images of the collapsed bridge, which was built on the A10 toll motorway in the 1960s. Restructuring work on the bridge was carried out in 2016.

Hmm.
Fox just showed the video....this was no little thing....most of the bridge is gone....incredible
Close up of collapsed section:
This is the best view of the collapsed section:
This is the bridge intact. The part that collapsed is the section to the left-- see the small building NEXT TO the collapsed section in the first picture as reference:
It looks like the two main pillars (struts?) are gone. How the heck did that happen? How could that happen?
Western Civilization is falling apart ...
The bridge has been closed to traffic.’
Gee pretty obvious the bridge is closed to traffic for a long long time.
It could just be poor maintenance or faulty engineering but, I’m blaming Muslims until proven otherwise.
It was sabotaged by jihadi’s. They planted bombs. If that turns out not to be true I will retract my statement.
When a bridge fails it seems to me that it would not fail in such a catastrophic manner. One end or the other but not he length of the span. The center pylons everything is gone. It looks, to my untrained eye that it was blown up

Looks like it. Center tower is demolished. I doubt that occurred without intent.
seems a few contractors may not be contractors much longer. hope no fatalities of those on bridge at time.
There appear to be a couple quick flashes at the beginning of the video.
oh, yes, I hadn’t thought terrorist. that is likely as you mentioned. I wonder if anything to do with italy not taking ship people in?
Probably over the next few hours we’ll start seeing videos. You have to think that for something that big, SOMEBODY would have whipped out his cell phone and started recording.
Power lines perhaps? Causing the flashing at beginning of video? Hard to see...
Steve is da man !!!
Some of the span is already gone at that point, electric wires/transformer?
Yep. Doesn't look like a normal structural failure.
Were the contractors from Saudi Arabia?
