Mitch McConnell doesn't have the stomach for a Supreme Court fight.
He doesn't want his democrat buddies in republican states to be cornered.
He doesn't want to upset the precious Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.
He doesn't want have to pressure "suffering" John McCain to retire before the Arizona August primary so the beloved Cindy can be appointed without any political consequences.
And McConnell doesn't want another hard-line textualist on the court.
McConnell wants Trump to make it easy for him.
I don’t think PDJT cares about what the Turtle thinks.
He does care though that the very soft shell Turtle would just do his damn job for American Patriots and get whomever POTUS selects seated on the SC in an expedient fashion.

Remember that Obama got Elena Kagan appointed to SCOTUS and she had NEVER been a Judge, so there wasn’t a track record of decisions.
If they’re on Trump’s list of 25, they’re all good. If they’re in his final 4, then he thinks they’re excellent and not just good.

Not at all, Mitch McC and his Kentuckians sabotaged Judge Moore without proof of wrongdoing. He was savage in attacks on conservatives, including state Sen. Chris McDaniel of MS.
The left doesn’t care anyway who McConnell recommends. Anyone to the right of RBG will be cast as “reactionary,” “fascist” and “Hitler.”
Note that 0bama cheer leader Kagen doesn’t write many opinions.

The only props you can give Mr. Elaine Chao is that he wouldn’t bring Merrick Garland’s nomination forward/for a vote, citing the “Biden Rule.” That was not only political genius (though he probably did it hoping Kasich would be the next prez), but it saved us from 2+ years of disasterous SCOTUS rulings.
And the fact that besides Obama, she is the only one who has actually seen his Harvard Law School records.
Who does on their side?
