I read an article about him many, many years ago that mentioned that after his acting career progressed, he was considered by his peers the most liked person in Hollywood. That natural kind and warm personality of his sure came through when he played Hoss also didn’t it?

My parents loved eating at those steak houses. When I was home we always went to one or the other. Great food.

s My wife is Japanese and she remembers watching Bonanza as a child. Hoss had a worldwide audience. Loved the guy.

My Dad commanded the 2nd Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division in Korea and had fond memories of Sgt.Blocker. Said that his chosen weapon was the BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) as his size and strength made it easy and effective for him to use. His report was that he was a very good soldier, never shirked the front lines and was well respected by his fellow soldiers.

Hoss was the only character I liked on Bonanza. Sad he died so young.

I am currently watching the Mecum Collector Car Auction from Portland right now. A bit of interesting trivia about Dan Blocker is that in 1965, Chevrolet Motor Division presented Him with one of the first 1965 Z-16 396 Chevelles. I don’t know what happened to the very collectible car after His death.

Was a big deal , I was a small kid who only watched F-Troop and Gilligan’s Island and I dream of Jeanie.

This guy passed away and it was breaking news.
