Marilyn Monroes rear is getting some leers in Connecticut.
A 26-foot statue of the iconic actress has been placed in a Stamford park across the street from a church, which is getting a full view of her behind.
It depicts the famous scene from 1955s The Seven Year Itch where Monroe holds down her white dress as air blows up from a subway grate. The back of the statue showing her underwear is clearly visible from the front of the First Congregational Church of Stamford.

I have read it, and the Talmud and the commentaries. I give up.
As Churchill said, never give up. God’s grace and redemption and mercy are always available to you (and everyone else). Always. Until your last breath.
All of our problems and difficulties have their root in sin, which may be traced back, literally, to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They had God’s gift of free will, and even though they knew God personally, face-to-face, and would walk with Him in the evenings in the cool of the perfect garden on a perfect earth, they still chose to sin...to disobey God’s Word to them.
He forgave them, but still ousted them from the Garden; made making a living from the earth difficult and laborious; made birth painful for the woman; and put enmity forever between man and the snake.
Actions have consequences. We each know this, but we each also often forget or overlook this fact.
Yet, in spite of our actions, our sinful thoughts and ways, God still forgives us, as long as we do as He says, which is turn to Him in repentance and prayer, and accept His one and only Son, Jesus, as our savior, believing that Jesus lived, died (and in doing so paid the price for our
personal sins), and was resurrected three days later, now living at the right hand of God in heaven.
If you want faith you have to seek it. You have to overcome your human experience and open your soul to your God experience. He loves you. He wants you to know Him. And He has given you a way to know Him.
Read your Bible again. If you don’t have one, I’ll be glad to send you one. Pray. Ask God into your life. Accepting Jesus as your savior is the most important thing you will ever or ever can do. The result is eternal. God bless you and your family.
That first statue is awful. Lucy was a beautiful woman.
Differences of opinion are one thing. This is fundamentally something else entirely. This is an issue of right and wrong as defined by God.
Bingo.
I believe she was murdered. She had WAY too much dirt on the Kennedys (her diary was stolen, too). Imagine if in a fit of pique, she decided to air to the public she had had sex with both brothers. How do you think that would’ve gone down with the public ahead of the 1964 elections ? JFK wouldn’t have been assassinated, but politically destroyed. Goldwater would’ve won in a landslide.
LOL unless she also had sex with AUH2O
YOUR definition. Therefore completely a difference of opinion. And I support you having that opinion. For yourself. Not to be assumed for everyone else. Many will agree with you. That’s their right. Not all will. That’s their right. When you try to make your right a universal right, you trample on the rights of others. That I don’t support. I LOVE that we live in America where difference of opinion is put on the pedestal of law. And trying to live your life as a good man yourself, as I try to live as a good woman, that I’ll always support. And cheer from the rooftops.
Took a gander at the synopsis. Pretty creepy stuff. Immortality so long as you look like the incredible Mr. Limpet. Ick.
Yup.
Yes.
"When did you hear God speak? what exactly did He say?"
God spoke to us through the bible.
"Spare me your high horse."
I didn't author it. He did. Your issue isn't with me, it's with Him.
"While I think the gay lifestyle is difficult for them and I dont get it, that doesnt mean it is not real love."
Sodomy isn't love, sir. It's a perversion of His creation.
"And this God thing, where is He?"
Everywhere.
"I see so much awful stuff God does not lift a finger to alleviate that I have lost all hope of Him being a loving God and at this point see him as simply a Creator who abandoned his creations."
I'm sorry you feel that way. But he hasn't abandoned us. It is only we that abandon Him. Besides, if He righted every perceived wrong that we feel or see, what would be the point ? Too many folks think He should act like a magician or that he should answer our prayers and requests as WE expect him to. That's not how it works. His understanding and ways aren't ours. That's difficult for many to accept, but it's how it is. Besides, if He had really had enough of His creation, He could simply wipe us out. You can see His works, you just have to look. He still loves you, too, even if you are upset with Him.
Why glorify Marilyn Monroe?
The woman committed suicide.
Anyone see a sick culture here?
I didn’t see your reply. This is a good way of putting it, too. Life is a learning lesson or a test. If everything is all neatly laid out, all traps removed, what will we have ever learned ?
It's your choice who you wish to spend time with. But that's not the issue at hand here. It never was. Your definition of "good" may not be His. That is the point. You could be describing eating a delicious cake with scores of calories. It may taste good, it may taste great, but it's really bad for you. Rather like sin.
"What I like about Christianity are that those virtues are embedded in it. I see churches as trying to teach people to be the best that they can be. I also believe that were deeply affected by the people with whom we come in contact. So I cant be around people whose traits I dont want rubbing off on me. Only people who would help me be better."
The problem here is what that entails. If a so-called Christian church is teaching their parishioners that not only sin is good, it's great, they're not Christian. They're deceivers serving the Dark One. This is teaching lies. Christ wasn't about lies, He was about truth. He would not be telling a gay congregation what they're doing will lead them to God. He would tell them to stop sinning. Some people simply don't want to hear the truth, they prefer lies. We already know where that leads.
"With all those caveats, I look at the small number of gays that Ive cared about (they try to exaggerate their numbers for political purposes) and I see uniformly good people. Since Ive pre-selected for kindness toward others and a passion for life, Im not saying gays are better than straights. Im just saying that theyre as individual as straights. And theres the same percentage of passionate churchgoers among them as among straights. Theyre active volunteers and people who reach out to help those they see struggling. Yes, many of them would like the government to do the helping, sigh, but these are the ones in the trenches not of political activism, but of helping the unfortunate."
That is fine and dandy, but that doesn't change the central point.
"I was allowed to free think from the time I was eight years old. I take the incredible diversity of opinion of people as a strength, so I wouldnt change a single opinion of another person to mine unless their opinions moved out of their world into mine. I dont have friends who do that. I dont consider that a good characteristic that would help me be a better person."
"Free thinking," as I've seen it, is another of Satan's tricks. It usually means trying to get out and away from God's word and towards selfish behaviors/lifestyles and destructiveness. It's often the hallmark of the self-centered. The most misguided and bigoted people I've ever come across are self-described "free thinkers." Think of San Francisco en masse. They detest truth, and it shows.
"I cant understand being gay. I havent the faintest idea if its nurture or nature. I cant even go the place where women prefer other women to men. Personally, that just elicits a massive YUCK. Ive been married to a man I respect for 48 years and consider myself purely lucky. But the gays I know are as steady in their relationships as the straights I know. No better. No worse. And I only know the ones who are good and kind and live lives that I deeply respect."
It still doesn't change God's position on that. Maintaining a sinful lifestyle for decades is nothing to be proud of, and similarly will not be rewarded.
"Id hope that support for gays comes only from people knowing good gay people and not from Gay Pride marches of the strange and scary part of their society."
We've already seen their fascist agenda at work. They have no hesitation to destroy good Christian citizens who do not indeed worship THEIR sinful behavior and lifestyle choices.
"I have to assume that that banner outside the church means theyre proselytizing Gay Pride."
THAT is their religion, under the false banner of Christianity. Satanic.
"Id stay away from that as fast as Id stay away from proselytizing Christians or Muslims. But Ill support the BELIEFS of all of those people within their own lives and ignore ALL of the proselytizing."
So, by that reckoning, you will ignore truth because it bothers you.
Hence you want God to be a magician. Of course, I can address your point about priests easily, since it comes down to the point about homosexuals. The Catholic Church has a large contingent of them infesting it, just as so many other Christian sects do. Many sympathizers within the church allow this to go on when it could be stopped dead in its tracks. That’s not a problem due to God. That’s a failure of leadership within the church allowing evil to go on.
Exactly.
The first statue looked more like Paulie Walnuts from “The Sopranos” with a pompadour.
Oh, brother. =smacks head=
I ignore YOUR truth. I believe in MY truth. That’s the great joy of America. We don’t live in a one religion fits all world. And when someone’s philosophy, like Obama’s, goes too far, we have voting booths to even things out again. I always felt sorry for people born into societies that let one philosophy dominate, like Muslim nations. I’m so deeply grateful to have been born in America where truth doesn’t belong to any one person or group. Again, I support you having your belief in your truth, and I always will. And one thing we CAN agree on - the wonder of having President Trump lead this nation for these wonderful years.
Again, not my definition. I don’t get to set right and wrong. Neither do you. He does.
When this country starts to enshrine sinful wrongs into law and call them “rights”, our country is headed for disaster. That one black-robed tyrant (Kennedy) could redefine thousands of years of a single bedrock principle handed down by God, that, madam, is serving the Dark One. It is nothing to celebrate. It diminishes ALL of us.
