Were used to Dr. Oz broadcasting outrageous, pseudoscientific ideas on his hugely popular daytime TV show, The Dr. Oz Show. The cardiac surgeon has for years devoted large amounts of airtime to peddling all sorts of suspect detoxes, diets, and other health misinformation. (He does sometimes offer good health information too.)
Now, because 2018 is weird, Oz is a member of the Presidents Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition an advisory board devoted to promoting healthy lifestyles across the nation. One might wonder if hed clean up his act. But its not happening.
On Wednesday, he (or someone running the Twitter account in his name) tweeted out this doozy to 4.3 million followers.
For centuries, we have used astrological signs to examine our personality and how we interact with those around us, however, these signs may reveal a great deal about our health as well. Discover what your astrological sign can tell you about your health:
First off, astrology isnt real. Repeat after me: Astrology isnt real. Sing it aloud: Astrology isnt real!
Its a pseudoscientific parlor game that tends to make a big deal out of insignificant coincidences. For example, Mercury in retrograde. Every few months, from our vantage point here on Earth, it looks like the planet Mercury is drawing loop-de-loops in the sky. Its an illusion that this occurs because the Earth and Mercury are orbiting around the sun at different rates. But yet astrologers take it to mean theres an increased chance of miscommunication, among other maladies.
Also, do you really believe that everyone born in the same month could possibly share the same cosmic destiny? What hooey!

That also goes for guys who started in radio before 60, like Dr. Dean Edell.
He was a man of is times. I don't fault him for belief in things we now know to be pseudosciences (astrology, alchemy, creationism, etc.), but that doesn't lend credence to such superstitions.
He’s a pagan. So what else is new.
“Kennedy on the True Meaning of the Zodiac”
He may have read an old book titled “Witness of the Stars” by E. W. Bullinger. It was written in 1893. As in the video you linked, the zodiac interpretation begins with Virgo. On page 15 it mentions, as in the video, that the word zodiac actually comes from an ancient word meaning way or path.
The book is fascinating, provided you are somewhat familiar with Hebrew and Greek and Arabic, or at least interested in the ancient names of the stars and their connections with words in the Holy Bible, which is liberally quoted.
I recommend it for contemplation, and of course there is nothing in it advocating fortune telling, just a lot of excellent food for thought.
Interesting info. Thanks.
