Maybe I can now put a toll gat up on MY street?

And no dogs allowed that might excite my hounds.

Wild guess, the location would NOT be zoned residential?

Crossfit is a cult.

That said, I visited Annie Thorisdottir’s CrossFit in Reykjavik. Some normal people, and a couple scary broads...

The location of the gym is in an industrial zone. The complaint from the neighbors falls in the same category as neighbors complaining about the smell of a farm... from a farm.

My neighbor had a hair salon next to one of these joints .
The place rude and obnoxious as this joint .
They had half the parking lot with people throwing weights next to park cars and running in front of parking cars and blasting music and running into old ladies .
They were asked to move .

This fad is dying off.

The worst part of crossfit for me is that for every hour they work out on their own they have to spend two hours talking about it at work - usually around my cubicle.

Sigh.

Membership is about $17.50 per month.

You can put a hold on your membership once a year and the fee goes to $18 per month while on hold!

I ran on the strand along Hermosa and Manhattan beaches for 30 years and many streets down to the beach and back. No complaints even from my joints👣👣

Uncle Rhabdo from rhabdomyolysis...

To each their own, Crossfit isn’t my thing.

“Whether you’re a CrossFit junkie or not, you’ve probably seen the headlines claiming the fitness craze is to blame for extreme numbers of rhabdomyolysis cases. The condition is brought on by extreme exercise that causes muscle breakdown that can lead to kidney damage. But before you cancel your CrossFit membership, keep in mind that the condition is incredibly rare, and Rhabdo (as it’s nicknamed) isn’t exclusive to CrossFit by any stretch of the imagination.”

https://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/a19914211/rhabdomyolysis-and-crossfit/ One of what must be hundreds of cross fit articles on the web.

The more physical fitness out there though, I think that’s good, near me, we have a “Vertical Endeavors”, you are able to climb inside the building, they have this new chain called “9 round kickboxing”, you go into these places and they have some sort of exercise, first one’s free I think. So, overall, I think this is good.

Our accounting/tax outfit is breaking their lease and moving specifically because a cross-fit moved in next door.

You literally cannot hold a normal conversation due to the music, and the intermittent bangs and thumps are continual and distracting. The added vibration is bad for their computers (they've already had several go down)

I'm all for exercise and fitness, free markets etc. But these businesses are not good neighbors. They need to be in dedicated single-use buildings because only maybe a machine shop or some such could co-exist with them.

Got to love Hermosa Beach. Where they have to dig pretty deep in the sand to find their next problem. Yoga and bar puking the worst crimes around.
