Trying to get transcript. Basically Bill Nelson said he is extremely familiar with guns and he himself is a hunter. But nobody needs an "AUTOMATIC" weapon like the AR-15 used because it's not for hunting, it's for killing people.
Minimum age for long guns in FL is 18. He was 19, he passed a background check. No legal actions had been taken against him by anyone or any agency, and there was nothing to prevent the purchase.
So, he just walks into the campus?
Short of a police state, you can’t prevent this. A HS with 1000 students needs a security team, then 3000 students needs a security team.

You don’t expect a Democrat to tell the truth, do you? He will lie out of malice, spite, or sheer stupidity.

I disagree, these kids are cowards. If they know there is an armed person on campus that will shoot them they will tend to avoid it. Just like what Trump did at the border, just knowing "something" or someone might be there is a deterrent.
When I was in school some years ago, before the government took over the public schools
*when there was freedom to have a Bible club in school...
*when students walked to the church in town that was having Good Friday services.
*when the principal had control over the students and the students knew it.
*when teachers were good people who had respect for the student and vice versa.
*when parents raised their kids to have/show respect
*when vulgarity was not used in mixed company and NEVER in school.
*when there was such a thing as modesty
I could go on... but one can get the idea of what is wrong today and this is not a gun problem... it’s a rules/respect/consequences/parents/schools/losing control of a generation or more problem ..
.... because the left has NO sense at all and will run us all into a life/world you do not want.... if not stopped!
A side note: I have NEVER seen such hate and language as is used from behind a computer monitor.. that would not have happened in the time I described above... parents held their kids responsible.. society held kids and adults responsible.. there was no need for a ‘safe house’...

Nailed it. Nelson knows EXACTLY what he was saying - he’s following the old Josh Sugarmann prescription of calling every “scary-looking” rifle an automatic or a machine gun, simple to propagandize the population into being anti-gun.
Given that Nelson is in a powerful position, and that he’s hoping that he and his buds on the Left will be in a far more powerful position in the future, one has to question why, exactly, he wants to ban an entire class of guns (and not so coincidentally the most effective class held by the population, in very large numbers). I KNOW the answer to that question, as does any thinking person.
Remember, gun control is about CONTROL, not about guns. Nelson is a perfect example of that.

My husband’s grandpa had a saying when he thought someone wasn’t to smart. He would say I doubt he knows which end the round comes out of. He cracked us up with all his old sayings.
