Okay, I recently started binge watching "Homeland" due to getting a Showtime subscription when I turned off my cable TV and switched to Amazon Prime. I just completed watching Season 1 of "Homeland" last night and I noticed several absurdities with the show. However, the biggest absurdity of them all is: HOW DID A VICE-PRESIDENT BECOME SO POWERFUL?
The President on the show is invisible so far but Vice-President Walden is so powerful that he can even order drone missile strikes? Really? In what alternate universe does this happen? Ordering military operations by himself is waaaaay above a vice-president's pay grade. I mean how weak does a president have to be to allow his vice-president to usurp his power in such a blatant manner?
It's fiction, PJ.
Because that is the way the script is written.
:)
Stopped watching that show season 1 when it a main character luring his own daughter into Mohamedism.
Hillary Clinton, with no position whatsoever, nearly nationalized American health-care in the 90’s - and basically had America go to war against Libya in 2011 and turned that country into a failed state.
Why is it so unimaginable?
It’s a pretty good series. Worth watching. Lots of good twists. IMHO.
Also ridiculous was letting Sgt. Brody into a room where they were holding his former torturer with NO barrier between them.
Good series, hopefully they don’t jump the shark like “24” did when they “normalized” muslim terrorists.
I want to see a series called “Deep State” based on REAL events. They need to search hard for an actor to have as evil looking glare as John Brennan projects.
Oh no, it gets more absurd in later seasons (but we still watch it).
My opinion is dont watch past the first story arc (3 or 4) seasons. Same with wired if you havent binged that one.
However, the biggest absurdity of them all is: HOW DID A VICE-PRESIDENT BECOME SO POWERFUL?

You haven’t watched House of Cards, have you?
Spoiler.
Francis Underwood is the president without even being elected as president. Or even vice president.
He was selected and appointed for each position.
‘Tis a silly show that should be consumed with much salt. It’s from the same folks that made 24, it’s all about plot twists and try not to think too much about what happened 4 episodes ago because we’re about to contradict that. And much like 24 it eventually gets rather boring because there’s just so many unexpected twists a viewer can stand.

As opposed to the reality of when Obama and Biden were in office. Obama was strong. In all the wrong ways, of course. But he was a strong president.
As opposed to Biden who was dumber than a bag of flaming poop on the porch.
Worked for Ford.
I thought that when Brody reconnected the suicide vest in the bathroom that it would accidentally set it off, killing him but leaving the others in the adjoining room shaken and safe from serious harm.
OMG. You’re right. I looked it up. I thought Agnew left in the first term. And Ford was on the ticket in 1972.
I was but a boy back then. That’s my excuse.
The magic of Hollywood
"They're there for one reason and one reason only: to die for the Caliphate and usher in a world without infidels. That's their strategy and it's been that way since the seventh century. So do you really think that a few special forces teams are going to put a dent in that? "
VP Cheney ‘ordered’ shootdown of inbound hijacked plane.
