Donald Trumps former chief strategist Steve Bannon has described the Trump Tower meeting between the presidents son and a group of Russians during the 2016 election campaign as treasonous and unpatriotic, according to an explosive new book seen by the Guardian.
Trump-Russia investigation: the key questions answered Read more Bannon, speaking to author Michael Wolff, warned that the investigation into alleged collusion with the Kremlin will focus on money laundering and predicted: Theyre going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.
Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, reportedly based on more than 200 interviews with the president, his inner circle and players in and around the administration, is one of the most eagerly awaited political books of the year. In it, Wolff lifts the lid on a White House lurching from crisis to crisis amid internecine warfare, with even some of Trumps closest allies expressing contempt for him.

This guy sounds like a flake.
Good advice.....after I posted this, I see the there are 2 or 3 more of the same article farther down the timeline.....can you merge them, because I think the comment trail will be very interesting on this.
I hope that it is possible to do so. Thanks
Nothingburger, yet more fake news...
David Smith reports in the Guardian:
[Bannon] is particularly scathing about a June 2016 meeting involving Trumps son Donald Jr, son-in-law Jared Kushner, then campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in New York. A trusted intermediary had promised documents that would incriminate rival Hillary Clinton but instead of alerting the FBI to a potential assault on American democracy by a foreign power, Trump Jr replied in an email: I love it.
The meeting was revealed by the New York Times in July last year, prompting Trump Jr to say no consequential material was produced. Soon after, Wolff writes, Bannon remarked mockingly: The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor with no lawyers. They didnt have any lawyers.
Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think its all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.
Bannon went on, Wolff writes, to say that if any such meeting had to take place, it should have been set up in a Holiday Inn in Manchester, New Hampshire, with your lawyers who meet with these people. Any information, he said, could then be dump[ed] down to Breitbart or something like that, or maybe some other more legitimate publication.
Bannon added: You never see it, you never know it, because you dont need to But thats the brain trust that they had.

Good point. Could be fake news.
The “Russian lawyer” was Fusion GPS.
Even someone with a pure heart might find trying to actually building something like...
...is like walking atop the edge of a razor.
I'd expect those who've been milking the Military Industrial cash-cow for 57+ years would understandably want nothing to do with such an endeavor - and do everything they could to undermine it.
OnwardAndUpward President Trump!
Here’s the author... whose other claims to fame include saying Limbaugh has no power in the media, Fox news is unpopular, and Murdoch is going to buy the NY Times.

I see no evidence of Bannon turning on him. The book is more Leftist BS cooked up crap.
I warned people even before Bannon's inevitable firing that Bannon is a pathological liar. I can prove it very easily. As an example, he completely fabricated Ted Cruz's record on his website, even claiming Cruz wanted to cut H1Bs (Cruz wanted to increase it by several multiples).
Bannon is merely a mercenary who was first bought out by Cruz's Megadonor Mercer, then, through a series of totally random events, including the overreaction of Ben Shapiro to Bannon's refusal to die with him and the fraudster chick, and the exodus of a bunch of retarded Breitbart writers, suddenly Breitbart got the totally undeserved reputation of being a "Trump website."
In reality, Bannon had been playing a game for ages. He not only lied to his audience, but also refused to discuss the money he was receiving from Mercer, and he even setup a daily poll for the sole purpose of mining their email addresses and voting patterns to deliver it to Cruz's internet-based fundraising machine and email lists.
What was there to trust in this guy? And then the articles began to hit where Bannon was supposedly reading these hardcore Nationalist writers. In fact, the articles made it sound like he had ALWAYS been reading them, despite actively lying on behalf of candidates who opposed Trumpism to the core.
Trump's only real mistake was in bringing a vulture like Bannon into the inner circle. I stated many times on this website that Bannon could easily stab us all in the back, and at any moment.
If this article is true, then that moment has come.
Treat with healthy skepticism.
author Michael Wolff,
Sour grapes. Poor loser.
Maybe this is a sideshow meant to deflect.
The Guardian = Liars
BUMP! BUMP! BUMP!
It is. That being said, I get it that the kids were around for awhile after the victory. Staying around and listening while a team was formed would've been fine. But they just don't have what it takes to promote the Deplorable Agenda. I'm glad Don Jr is no longer involved, and I wish Jared and Ivanka would go home. One reason people voted for President Trump (primaries and election) is to not vote for a dynasty.
As far as the Bannon big-mouthed situation? I'm wondering if there's anyone who can be depended on once they've had some DC swampwater.
I listen to Mark Simone (NY talk radio host and good friend of DJT), he said that this strategy is to get Bannon on talk shows to sell the books.
Simone didn’t seem the least bit concerned over this. I hope it’s a ploy to sell books and nothing else.
And Fusion GPS -—> CIA
Seems like maybe Bannon’s banged his head against the wall a few too many times.
The quotes in this article seem to be from before any of that came out. They basically seem to express the same frustrations many expressed here at the time, before the “insurance plan” was exposed. Seems like he’s basically saying it was stupid for these guys to meet without a plan to report it to the FBI and/or the news media right away. He’s saying the investigation is a witch-hunt that will be used to focus on Trump’s money.
It does trouble me if Bannon is considering a primary run against Trump though. It’s the same thing with Cruz in the primary. The R’s can’t afford the typical election/circus “friendly fire” casualties. We need to keep fighting the deep state and not get distracted with beating up the guy leading the fight. When the deep state lies in a pile of burning bones for all to see, THEN we can get back to the “normal” shooting down of our own allies. Or not.
Better would be for you to find a reasonably reliable source that discusses this issue, or use yourself as the source, so that the post has a reasonably reliable headline and article.
Avoid using liars like The Guardian, as your source. It strengthens the lie.
