My birth year is not even on that list. I feel so old that I wanted a wheel when they first came out. A fire was second! 😋

I bought my kids Rock’em Sock’em Robots. My oldest son is 51, and my youngest almost 47.

Ah, incredible edibles. Wonderful memories of scalding burns and the smell of jellied critters cooking in the metal plates.

Sadly, once the goop was gone, no more fun. I can still remember the taste of the goop.

I can still hear the advertisement jingle in my head.

Yep, we had our imagination to entertain us.

Agreed.

We still have a complete game from when I got it for Christmas in nineteen seventy something. My son enjoyed playing it as much as I did when I was a kid and now my young grandchildren are loving it too.

Me too, that and the erector set. One of crowning achievements as a lad was changing the gearing and getting Mr. Machine to walk backwards.

Am I so old that they don’t have history for my birth year? No toys back then?

Same here. I guess there weren't any toys in the 50s.

On the other hand, what's the use of a toy on the year you were born? Should have been the year you turned 6 or 7...

Here's one I loved (original 1960 commercial - I was 7): Mr. Machine

Ya. I was too. Until my parents thought it looked too much like a doll. :(

Noticed that, too.

Where is the toy from my birth year (1955).

I just recall one that made edible stuff like spiders and there was a toy that cast creepy non edible figures.

Vacuum U Form used heat and plastic sheets to mold items.

Yea! that’s what I want to know. Especially since I sure can’t remember back to 46.

My birth year is not listed.

However, my Dad and I did get my first electric train that year.

Still have it. Still run it with my grandsons every Christmas. Smoke and whistle still work.
