The Hallmark Channel is a throwback to an age when Hollywood produced family-friendly films and love stories that did not involve leather and whips.
The network has earned millions of loyal fans for broadcasting movies that promote the virtues of faith and family — stories that tug at your heartstrings. “We are a place you can go and feel good,” Bill Abbott, the chief executive of Crown Media, told the Washington Post.
“We intentionally branded ourselves as the happy place. Abbott said. “Hallmark’s tagline is ‘the heart of TV.’” And viewership has skyrocketed since President Trump promised to make America great again – making Hallmark one of the most-watched cable television networks in the nation.
For the sake of full disclosure, I’m a fan of “When Calls The Heart,” produced by my good friend, Brian Bird. It’s a great place to escape from the unhinged rantings of Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon.
But it turns out not everyone is a fan of Hallmark. Slate published a scathing review of the network — complaining about its around-the-clock Christmas movies. “They brim with white heterosexuals who exclusively, emphatically, and endlessly bellow “Merry Christmas” to every lumberjack and labradoodle they pass. They’re centered on beauty-pageant heroines and strong-jawed heroes with white-nationalist haircuts,” the Slate writer declared.
There were complaints about the lack of gay people and feminists and Muslims in Hallmark Channel’s movies.
Slate also whined about what it called the network’s “42 hours of sugary, sexist, preposterously plotted, plot hole–festooned, belligerently traditional, ecstatically Caucasian cheer.”
It’s true that most of the stars in Hallmark’s Christmas movies have a fair complexion – but to say it’s a holiday white-out would be inaccurate.
I suppose they would complain if they showed Muslims wishing people Merry Christmas also.
These people and their miserable little lives.

I’m trying hard to find NON FAGGOT TV and movie shows thats why more poeple are watching 1960’s and 80’s movies. A friend of mine edited the fag part from the Walking Dead episode when one homo was crying over another ass muncher’s death. It was simple cutting within a few seconds.
We like the Hallmark Christmas movies. They’re rather innocent, free of sex and violence. I wish they would produce more which were explicitly religious, however.

My wife says that Hallmark Christmas movies are a delightful return to 1950’s TV family-entertainment values. Makes me glad I married someone much younger than me (84 vs 79).
So, do what I do with CNN, MSNBC and network broadcast news...CHANGE THE CHANNEL!
The key here is to QUIT CAVING TO CRY BABIES!
There is no obligation to obliterate our culture and our heritage to appease those wishing for sympathy by joining the “victim” class.
Hallmark Channel on demand plays their movies with no commercial interruption too. Mighty white of them.
I really like the Hallmark christmas movies.
They are like heaven.
Perfect people, perfect homes, perfect towns...
Then i look around at my surroundings and get sad.

Imagine being such a miserable, sad human being that you wake up every day to find something to offend you.
I would imagine the medicine cabinet of the typical Lefty looks like something out of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.....People like these “jouranlists” and celebs like Chelsea Handler HAVE to be on some of the most powerful meds on the planet.
Maybe Hallmark should start playing the Government Produced Warning on Homosexuals during every top of the hour break, just to Piss off the Sodomy loving Commies at Slate.

I notice there is a lot of white privilege in those Hallmark movies.
Slate is a bunch of ignorant, arrogant, angry sodomites. If they hate something, it's probably good.
