President Donald Trump wants to send man back to the moon — and on to Mars.
Trump signed a policy directive Monday instructing the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to “refocus America’s space program on human exploration and discovery.”
The move, Trump said, “marks an important step in returning American astronauts to the moon for the first time since 1972 for long-time exploration.”
“This time we will not only plant our flag and leave our footprint,” he said, “we will establish a foundation for an eventual mission to Mars, and perhaps someday, to many worlds beyond.” …

I’d be thrilled just to send a bunch of libtards, MadMoFlakes and SnowFlakes to Mars....with a one-way ticket.
Moon? Cool. But Mars? Lots of new evidence lately that it would practically be a death sentence for any human sent that long distance. Arriving at Mars while covered in tumors isn’t going to appeal to many people.
Might appeal to the Martians, more to nibble on.
Just send Sheila Jackson Lee. And keep her there until she completes her mission: finding the Mars Rover.
Sometime tomorrow a federal judge will reverse his directive and order that the money be spent instead on fighting climate change.

The future is space exploration. If America is not first, or we don’t survive obumber, we’re done for.
I suggest Pelosi and Schumer as first astronauts.

Who do we send?
People have always cried that any new exploration is doomed to failure and death. Sometimes they are even right. If Columbus had not chanced to run into the Americas he would have killed off his entire crew.
But people keep flinging themselves into the abyss flapping their arms as hard as they can. It is what is programed into human nature. And mostly we, against all odds, manage to fly.
“Great again” means “great again.”
I have to pose this: Why are most people intentionally-ignorant of cosmic rays and the protection afforded by our magnetosphere?
Underground Moon bases are one thing: We can mine H3. Mars is a one-way trip with current technology.
Even educated millenials fall for this crap; I just don’t understand why, but neither do I understand stupid...I just know that it exists.
Before we went to the moon there was a lot of “new evidence” that the lander would sink into the dust that MUST have accumulated on the lunar surface, never to be seen again.

Manned Mars missions are overkill. Mars will never be a viable location for human settlement, other than science for centuries.
We’ve been in Antarctica for a century and there are few artists, musicians, factories, schools, city halls and hospitals there today.
