St Moritz, Switzerland (CNN)A number of US athletes have spoken out against Donald Trump during his presidency -- and skier Lindsey Vonn has become the latest to have her say. Targeting Olympic gold at February's Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Vonn is in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where she spoke passionately about what it means to compete for the US ski team. "Well I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president," Vonn told CNN's Alpine Edge.

“I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president,”

The president does NOT NEED your representation, you skank. May any of your opponents win!

Silly petty virtue signaling only shows how shallow minded and insecure she is.

She may be past her prime, regardless. Mikaela Shiffrin is younger and in better shape, and less prone to injury, imho. Lindsey Vonn is ten years older than Shiffrin.

I will be rooting for her competition to humiliate her. No matter the country.

This begs a very good question: (at least one Freeper, up-thread, thought it before me):

How many of these Olympic team twits are going to take a knee during the National Anthem during the winter games (or some equally disgracefull, leftist protest)?

And how will such protests be handled by the team leadership?

I'm confused, and apparently so is Vonn, I thought athletes represented their countries at the Olympics not their countries leaders.

Seems like liberals and communists, but I repeat myself, can never refrain from making a political statement and at least in America if they can also make it it about me me look at me, it's a bonus.

I don't know because I don't follow sports at all, but how many Conservative athletes refused to represent America during the previous misadministration?

I went back and listened to the interview. Her answer is actually a good response to a really stupid question.

Vonn showing how stupid she is . . . you don’t represent the President, you represent the USA!!!

Moron.

Or as Herb Brooks famously asked his team who do you play for? At the beginning of the movie the kids talked about their college team . . . they finally get it after the Norwegian pre-Games tour tie.

Hope she was good in bed Tiger, doubt she kept you warm intellectually!

So, I want to know the reason why... that question should be asked of those who say these treasonous statements, on foreign soil or home. Her answer would say she doesn’t have a mind of her own .. those younguns wouldn’t think of researching for truth .. they just repeat the media’s lies.
It’s almost fun to see a lefty squirm for answers.

"If there is someone on FR who knows how to set up boycott campaigns, now would be a good time to step forward."

Conservatives are lousy at boycotting. I tried once to organize one on this forum, and to no avail. It's like trying to herd cats to get conservatives to massively boycott anything...my guess is they are too individualistic to be part of organized protest movements of any kind.

I see that Proctor and Gamble is one of her sponsors. I use Bounty paper towels in big amounts...no mas.

“Vonn showing how stupid she is”

It’s her Dixie Chicks moment. Let’s see what happens.

It will be interesting if some American athletes kneel at the Olympics.
