Murrieta began feeling sick last Sunday, and was sent home from her job at a warehouse to get some rest.
...
"My daughter called and said that Joie was sent home early on Sunday after working a few hours at the warehouse because she was really sick, and that she went home to rest," Gonzales said.
On Monday, her sister took her to an urgent care clinic, where they diagnosed Murrieta with the flu and sent her home with medicine.
"They got there in the morning and waited for a while, then they told her she had the flu and gave her a prescription for the medicine Tamiflu," Gonzales said.
Tamiflu is an antiviral medication used to treat and prevent infection with influenza A and B viruses. It is most effective when taken within 48 hours of contracting the flu.
...
"She was very healthy and never got sick, she worked six days a week and her job was at a warehouse so she was very active at her job," said Gonzales. Murrieta was seemingly not at a higher risk for hospitalization or death from the flu...
... Murrieta did not get a flu shot, Gonzales said, but her doctors said that there is no way to tell now whether that would've made a difference.
Murrieta leaves behind her two sons, one two-year-old and one six-month-old. "She would do anything for her sons and it breaks my heart that the little one, who's only six months, will grow up without her," Gonzales said. "She was just a beautiful person and we want to express our gratitude for everyone who has shown support for our family."

Very often, influenza leaves people extremely susceptible to bacterial infections. She would not have gotten pneumonia had she not been sick with the flu.
“Very often, influenza leaves people extremely susceptible to bacterial infections. She would not have gotten pneumonia had she not been sick with the flu.”
indeed. exactly why she should have been x-rayed ...
Flu can turn into pneumonia very easily. It happened to me some years ago.
I wish I'd seen this post before already posting the answer to this. I would have pinged both people who said this.
Influenza leaves people extremely susceptible to bacterial infections. She would not have gotten pneumonia if she had not had the flu.
“How is her death senseless. 36,000 people in the the US die of flu every year”
and they say conservatives have no empathy ...
So, she leaves behind no husband or father of her children?
Some pneumonia will take you down Fast!
1st day by ribs hurt and I kinda shrugged it off and tried to walk back in my mind what could be causing the ache
2nd day was like having a knife shoved in my ribcage and I could not breath or walk.
They put me on Anthrax level CIPRO that day.
It took 2 weeks to come out of it
I got the flu two days after my daughter was born. I was down for almost a week.
Pneumonia does kill, so do many types of the flu, and if you never had measles, have never gotten the shot to prevent getting it, measles can kill you too!
Youn, healthy woman dies from the flu in todays times? I don’t buy it. Did she have dirt on the Clintons?
That happened to me about 7-8 years ago with that h1n1 flu. By day 3 both lungs were barely working, pneumonia. Only antibiotics saved me. I have never been deficient in vitamin d since that time. I never want to be that sick again.
If I were to guess, this is an illegal alien not an arizona woman and her immune system was weakened from intravenous drug use.
He also had a bad heart, was not taking his medication and had no flu shot. Bad combo for him.
Keep up vitamin D levels. Get levels tested every year. Side benefit is that Vitamin D lowers risk of cancer. The trash contained in flu shots does not belong in our bloodstreams.
“Did she have dirt on the Clintons?”
LOL. Zing!
The problem is the flu shot is not effective this year. Only protecting 10% of those who do get the flu.
Your best defense right now is both holistic and modern. I have been downing Zicam, I have homegrown elderberry brewing, and eating super healthy.
I have two people in my close circle with this flu and they have been told...no contact. I cannot, cannot get down with this strain ....yeah...talk to me next week.
I did not know that. Thanks for the onfo.
Yes. the current flu shot is only 10% effective
Oh, please. Works six days a week in a warehouse and leaves behind an infant and a toddler. Merry Christmas to you.
If you are so inclined this holy season, you can visit her GoFundMe page to contribute to her funeral.
Not likely in Arizona.
