The Cornish Kern beat over 3,000 cheeses from 35 different countries at the annual World Cheese Awards
cheese made by a small Cornish dairy has beaten all-comers to be named the best in the world.
The Cornish Kern was crowned champion at the annual World Cheese Awards - beating rivals from France and Italy and other famous names.
The buttery medium-hard cheese - noted for its deep aroma and caramel notes - has only been in production for a few years.
But it managed to see off all competition from across the globe, topping 3,000 cheeses from 35 different countries at the Taste of London food festival.

Sounds interesting.
I am somewhat partial to German Tilsit. It smells utterly horrific (think high school locker room 7 weeks into the semester and nobody has taken their strip home for washing), but is really quite delicious!
I toasted some at 0130 in the morning at work one night, and the lunchroom was still unusable by the other staff at lunch the next day.
It doesn’t just stink, it STAINKS!
I am in love w/ cheese. I want some of that.......on a water cracker or rye. I am swooning!
I was being lazy after my shower this morning & I was watching a show on cheese. The sandwiches made w/ processed cheese slices were called “dream sandwiches” during the Depression.
Dittos on the Maytag although I’d also put Stilton right at the top as well.
