While I think a “Zombie-Based Learning curriculum” is a good idea. It speaks to what young people are interested in; I think the idea of having kids think about who lives - who dies - is wrong.

I was already having these discussions as a Freshman in high school. Heck as an avid D&D gamer I was giving some of this stuff fake practical application in dungeons.

If I was wearing my favorite tin foil hat, I’d say it looks like a back door way to learn who has weapons around the house. d;^)

Zombies are mindless, shuffling, violent feral humans who can’t dress themselves properly. So, Zombie Apocalypse is a racist code word. /s

Bad assignment.
There is no reason give as to WHY they have to "sacrifice" three of their people.
So answer is, "The person who wrote this assignment, the principle who approved it and the teacher who gave it. They are useless to the human race".
I do know why the teacher did not give any reasoning however, he/she/it is tired of smart alecs like me figuring out a way around their poorly thought out scenarios.

Why is this a bad assignment? Not to you, particularly, R2.

I'm going to play the devil's advocate here and say I can see where this could be a good question to ask budding adults. It raises all kinds of ethical and moral issues, and could very well be the kind of big matter these kids may eventually face. Maybe it will start them thinking about more spiritual subjects instead of cars, girls, boys, or video games.
Life presents hard decisions sometimes. It's certainly debatable that it's the school's place to teach morality, but I think I can make a case that schools are legitimately tasked with starting students to think.

If you’ve ever watched a group of high school kids walking along with their noses in their phones . . .
This is what the “Zombie Apocalypse” looks like!

I’m not sacrificing anybody. The first three that go, go.
You have to be able to live with yourself. If however, I catch anybody pulling a ‘Shane’ and shooting someone else in the leg to make a getaway themselves, they’re on my list.

And yet, nobody complained about B, having children write about killing fantasies with household objects?
What if one of those objects is an AR-15?

Ah, the glorious return of Death Education to our schools! It sort of went underground after Columbine, but nothing’s too good for “our” children.

If all the students wrote in the teacher’s name to sacrifice, they would stop this stuff.
