A military judge has found that Bowe Bergdahl should serve no prison time for endangering his comrades by walking off his Afghanistan post.
The judge also gave Bergdahl a dishonorable discharge, reduced his rank to private and said he must forfeit pay equal to $1,000 per month for 10 months. The judge made no other comments.

He was given a dishonorable discharge. I think that makes him ineligible to receive benefits or compensation.

The Judge had to get an offer he couldn’t refuse from the obozo or one of his thugs
Can someone on this thread with good knowledge of the UCMJ tell us if the government can appeal this decision?
How about a civil suit for that money from the veterans and families of veterans who got injured or killed looking for him?
UNBELIEVABLE!, Bergdahl should have received prison time. Under Patton the bastard would have received the firing squad. How can you expect discipline in the armed forces when a so called judge such as this guy walks a guy?

If there is anything positive about the decision, perhaps it is in the fact that the taxpayer is not footing the bill for his food, shelter, meidical care, etc., while in prison. The death penalty would have been too good for him; maybe Karma will catch up with him soon

Looks like desertion and giving aid to the enemy is no longer a punishable offense..

I have searched and have found NOTHING. Not even a photo.
Google led me here. Look at these comments:
Comment #1: What is Judge Col. Jeffrey Nance’s background? military service? His age?
Where did Nance serve? Was he just a noncombat lawyer in JAG shuffling papers? Did Nance consider whether Bergdahl might rejoin the Taliban once released? Like the five senior Taliban Obama traded for Bergdahl? Most news articles barely mention Nance’s name, and with no personal information on him.
Another comment: I’ve been looking too. Nothing, zip, nada.

In the new military, traitors walk free. Even traitors whose actions lead to the deaths of other soldiers. This feels like the OJ verdict.
