Took a peak to see what the attendance was at the game in San Fran. It was half full. Fox didn't show the national anthem, do not know if any Cowboys knelt for the anthem.
If people don’t come to the games, nobody’s going to stop them.
(Tip of the hat to the late, great Yogi Berra.)
What I have never figured out is how these team owners, with all the money they have invested, allowed this to get started. Jerry Jones’ new stadium cost over a billion dollars. They must think, like Hollywood, erroneously, that the money train will never end.
My connection to pro football has been disconnected, permanently.
All Cowboys stood. Five 49ers knelt. Was at an NBA game with my Cowboy friend. He stood during the national anthem there, too. If this game was in Dallas, the stands would be full.
Cooking collard greens and meatloaf barbq. Screw football. Jimmy Vaughan on stereo. No TV anymore.
Also note: I think the 81 Super Bowl team had a reunion today to honor Dwight Clark. He just announced he had ALS.
But we can't let wishful thinking push aside reality...and the reality is most NFL stadiums are filling up:
http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance Next year, after people have had a chance to revew season tickets, it may go down...and the face value of tickets may be down...but for the time being people are still going to the stadiums.
BTW, I suspect the real money is in the TV ratings anyway.
I note with joy that the Mavs are 0-3 to start the season.
“I bet they all want to thank Colon Kapernick for his social justice work,”
Another all American institution and tradition the democrats have destroyed. Military war deaths are a joke to them. Nothing is off limits to these devils. Thanksgiving and Christmas next...count on it.
Now that’s empty!
And for where my starting place is, soccer is a communist European wussy sport that’s boring. But yesterday while I was channel surfing I saw a World Cup playoff game opening between the USA team and England. Every American player was standing at perfect attention with their hand over their heart singing The Anthem along with the music very respectfully. And as the camera panned along down the length of the team, none of them looked like any sort of criminal Thug you would hate to meet anywhere else in real life. It was a pretty fair mix of America racially on the team. Then the Brits had their national anthem and again everyone stood respectfully. At the end of both songs before the game commenced both teams walked along and shook hands with each other like they were old friends.
I got to say it was kind of refreshing to see some sports happening that weren’t a bunch of damn criminals and malcontents
FEDGOV can steal from our paychecks but they can’t force us to watch or attend these retarded fools games.
how sweet it is!
>>>Im a pessimist. The stadium is half empty<<<
When talking about the NFL, that is being an optimist!
with tv ratings off the charts to boot.
Karma is a M_____F_____!
At this point, what difference does it make?
And we have the FIRST proper use of that term since pos/sos hiLIARy uttered in years ago!!!
At this point it just doesn't matter. Me and thousands of people who TRULY loved the game have turned away for good. A local radio guy asked the question "what can the NFL do to get you back?" Anything they do will be a cynical attempt to recoup revenue.
Ordering the players not to do the hijinks is just masking the problem. I know the players despise me and all I stand for and owners support that feeling.
Backatcha NFL.
You’re coming around.
Eventually everyone finds out:
Betting against the Americans is a mistake - a BIG mistake.
Just ask Admiral Yamamoto (after the Pearl Harbor bombing).
Yeah it surprises me that San Franciscans are staying away as the majority probably don’t care for the anthem either. I think it has more to do with their losing ways myself.
I’ll tell you what it was kind of nice to sit there and watch some decent people getting after it. I don’t understand anything about the game, but if they play their cards right they might get a few new fans out of this.
When Jerry Jones took a knee with his whole team arm in arm, that was the end of "America's Team". It's now the BLM team. As they all are.
