But we can't let wishful thinking push aside reality...and the reality is most NFL stadiums are filling up:
http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance Next year, after people have had a chance to revew season tickets, it may go down...and the face value of tickets may be down...but for the time being people are still going to the stadiums.
BTW, I suspect the real money is in the TV ratings anyway.
Screen shots today from around the league say you’re wrong. In stadium attendance at kickoff is way down. Very large numbers of empty seats.
Looks to me like the boycott is growing, not shrinking (as I thought it might).
Considering the season tickets are counted as attendance whether anyone is sitting in the seat or not. What we are seeing is people not going even though they have paid for the tickets.
That scenario is doubly bad for the NFL as the concessions take has to be abysmal and I would assume many of the cart style vendors may be on the verge of going bust as they all operate on small margins because of the privilege they have to pay for just to be there.
The real killer will be season ticket sales for next year. Add to it, I just saw a story the contract negotiations for Goodell are delayed or maybe even being put off.
