Hillary Clinton falls, breaks toe on the stairs during London book tour

Hillary Clinton canceled several media appearances Monday while on her book tour in London after she fell down the stairs and broke her toe.

"I was running down the stairs in heels with a cup of coffee in hand, I was talking over my shoulder and my heel caught and I fell backwards," Clinton told the Graham Nortion Show.

"I tried to get up and it really hurt. I've broken my toe. I've received excellent care from your excellent health service."

The former Democratic nominee was supposed to do interviews with BBC Woman's House, ITV's "This Morning" show and the BBC's "Graham Norton Show."

Clinton has been on tour promoting her book, "What Happened," which details her stunning election loss to President Trump.

I think you hit on her next excuse. Some man, somewhere, designed the high heeled shoe to accentuate the calf muscle of a women. This was obviously a sexist, misogynistic plot against all women to show them as bumbling fools, who are in constant need a of man to help them.

I can see her falling backward if her heel(s) went out from under her but I can’t see how she broke her toe whether the heel caught or went out from under.
or why she needs a boot & crutches for a broken toe - she should be eligible for a scooter .

“I broke mine a few years ago... in the morning, going up the stairs, coffee in hand and a bedroom slipper started to fall off... I jerked my foot forward to avoid falling, and hit the next step too hard.
Went about my business for the day, just had to limp a little bit. That night when I took my sock off and saw my whole foot and ankle black and blue decided to go to the ER. They said “yup... the toe’s broken... nothing we can do about it”.

Never had to miss work or anything, it just ached off and on for a few months.”

I broke a big toe on hardwood steps courtesy of wifey removing carpeting prematurely. Swore all the way to the drs. Office. Think of stoutly stubbing your toe then about 3 seconds later the pain hits. Pain subsides in minute or two, The pain doesnt subside for weeks when properly broken. I stll favor it and it aches on its own occasionally...30 years later! All they do is tape it to the next toe.

Some say you can't fall backwards running down stairs. But these same people say you can't break your toes falling backwards! What do they know?

It’s not even a good lie. If you are “running down stairs” and you trip, you don’t fall backwards up the stairs, if she said she slipped maybe.
But that would imply she can run on stairs and I recall the photo of people literally carrying her up a flight of four stairs/
Throw that in with the fact that it’s Hillary and the verdict: she lied.

Just way TMI in her statement. MOST people would just say they tripped and had a little accident. When she has to provide every little detail about her shoes, stairs, direction, coffee, etc., she is obviously trying to cover the truth by over-compensating with details that nobody cares about. The real tip off that she is lying is where she says she was “running”

No. People do not “run down stairs” (especially at her age and with her previous spasms and falls and numerous cases of “drug up the stairs” problems).

When they do “run down stairs” a person touchs the stair steps with the TOE of their shoes, slipper, or foot.

Because they are “running downstairs”, if their high heel “is caught” on some step, then the body’s momentum forces you further down the stairs, NEVER backwards. The toe then “might” be forced down into the next step, but the body is launched (dangerously!) down the rest of the steps at ever-increasing speed. But arms, hands, wrists, face and neck injuries are near-certain at her age and her agility..

If the body falls backwards, the toe is forced upwards, can’t touch anything, and CANNOT reasonably be broken unless both knees completely collapse and the body slides down the steps knees first, bottom back with the back and head sliding down and colliding with each subsequent step.
