The Austin City Council voted Thursday to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, a holiday that honors Native Americans, and no longer recognize Columbus Day. Austin follows such U.S. cities as Berkeley, Seattle, Denver, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and most recently, Los Angeles, in replacing the traditional holiday to instead declare that the second Tuesday of October honor Americas indigenous people.
Councilmembers approved a resolution that sought to create a path of healing and reconciliation noting that October 12, 1492, marked the beginning of the colonization of indigenous people that forever changed their identity, cultures, and achievements.

No Columbus equals no Spanish conquest of Mexico or Central or any part of South America,
equals no Spanish rule in Mexico,
equals no pre or post Spanish colonial caudillo society (as now) in Mexico or the Southwest U.S.,
equals no Mextecs or Aztecs brought north of the Rio Grand as part of Spanish colonial expansion,
equals no false narrative that Mextecs or Aztecs have a “natural right” to be north of the Rio Grande (never had Mextec or Aztec establishments more than 200 miles north of Mexico City, except as part of Spanish colonial conquest),
equals no false narratives to back illegal immigration from south of the U.S. border,
equals “Hispanics” are just dumb to not celebrate Columbus in the U.S., as without him there are no “Hispanics” of the western hemisphere.
My family line on my fathers side goes all the way back to the 1500’s. I think half a millennium is long enough to be considered native
And we all know what happened to California.

Maybe we could get the Libs to burn their own faces off.
Yes, just think of all the fabulous tortures and mutilations the indigenous pipples could have developed if only Chris C. hadn’t shown up and derailed everything.
