Texas Capital Dumps Columbus Day for ‘Indigenous Peoples Day’
Breitbart ^ | 10/6/17 | Merrill Hope

Posted on 10/06/2017 1:17:15 PM PDT by workerbee

The Austin City Council voted Thursday to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day, a holiday that honors Native Americans, and no longer recognize Columbus Day. Austin follows such U.S. cities as Berkeley, Seattle, Denver, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and most recently, Los Angeles, in replacing the traditional holiday to instead declare that the second Tuesday of October honor America’s indigenous people.

Councilmembers approved a resolution that sought “to create a path of healing and reconciliation” noting that October 12, 1492, marked the “beginning of the colonization of indigenous people that forever changed their identity, cultures, and achievements.”

*** “I’m. Choctaw. I’m American Indian. I’m offended if you call me indigenous” ***

I was born in Ohio, I have European, Cherokee and African Ancestors.
I repeat I was born in Ohio therefore I’m Indigenous.
My Children have the same Geneology plus Asian born in California and Louisiana and they are also Indigenous.

No Columbus equals no Spanish conquest of Mexico or Central or any part of South America,

equals no Spanish rule in Mexico,

equals no pre or post Spanish colonial caudillo society (as now) in Mexico or the Southwest U.S.,

equals no Mextecs or Aztecs brought north of the Rio Grand as part of Spanish colonial expansion,

equals no false narrative that Mextecs or Aztecs have a “natural right” to be north of the Rio Grande (never had Mextec or Aztec establishments more than 200 miles north of Mexico City, except as part of Spanish colonial conquest),

equals no false narratives to back illegal immigration from south of the U.S. border,

equals “Hispanics” are just dumb to not celebrate Columbus in the U.S., as without him there are no “Hispanics” of the western hemisphere.

My family line on my fathers side goes all the way back to the 1500’s. I think half a millennium is long enough to be considered native

PLUS 1000 - It's comical how liberals want to lump all the tribes together. My best buddy growing up was a 100% proud Cherokee and feels the same way.

In fourteen hundred and ninety two,
indigenous people didn’t have a clue,
If Chris and company hadn’t come,
they’d still be sitting on their bum.

Even though he might have been a Jew,
All Italians still love him true!

YES! Celebrate indigenous people’s day! where the Comanches tried to negotiate a peace treaty by giving up white captives WHO HAD THEIR FACES BURNED OFF by the Indigenous peoples.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_House_Fight

Maybe we could get the Libs to burn their own faces off.

Yes, just think of all the fabulous tortures and mutilations the indigenous pipples could have developed if only Chris C. hadn’t shown up and derailed everything.
