You’re most welcome...Not posting much lately! The back has been angry and I have been off the computer.
I’m feeling better but still need to limit computer time.

I enjoyed the poem and the graphic. I can’t even imagine how many times I dried my tears in fur when I was a child. It was good remembering that.

I’m so very sorry you’re in pain. I hope you find some relief soon. When my back was at its worst, I used to keep my computer on a table so I could stand instead of sit. Of course, that only works if someone else can lift the computer. All my best hopes this is very temporary.

I'm having my carpet replaced with vinyl planks. Hadn't realized how much stuff that I've accumulated in the past 60 years.
Have thrown away lots of stuff and have donated more stuff. Between JustJr and PrissyMissy, I need to find a new place to store some of this stuff.
Between church and senior activities, Marissa is keeping me on the road.
Not much else new here. They are predicting rain this weekend. High School football game Friday; looks like I'll need to pull the old poncho out of the garage.
Hope you feel better soon. Back spasms are awful. I'll keep praying that your back gets happy soon.

Living Anonymously
November 2, 2017
Let us have real warm affection for one another as between [family].
Romans 12:10 Phillips
My well-worn and often-read copy of Jane Yolens essay Working Up to Anon (Anonymous) was clipped from The Writer magazine many years ago. The best writers, she says, are the ones who really, in their heart of hearts, aspire to the byline Anon. The story told is important, not the storyteller.
The story we tell is about Jesus, the Savior, who gave His life for us. Together with other believers we live for Him and share His love with others.
Romans 12:321 describes the attitude of humility and love that should permeate our relationships with each other as followers of Jesus. Dont cherish exaggerated ideas of yourself or your importance, but try to have a sane estimate of your capabilities by the light of the faith that God has given to you all. . . . Let us have real warm affection for one another as between [family], and a willingness to let the other [person] have the credit (vv. 3, 10 J.B. Phillips New Testament).
Pride in our past accomplishments can blind us to the gifts of others. Arrogance can poison the future.
John the Baptist, whose mission was to pave the way for Jesus, said, He must become greater; I must become less (John 3:30).
Thats a good motto for us all.
I admit, Lord, that I have a lot to learn about humility. Help me to see You for who You are so You and others have their rightful place in my life.
Always be humble before God and allow Him to be your all in all. Oswald Chambers
In the letter to the church at Rome, Paul was writing to Jesus-followers he had never met and was one day hoping to visit (see Rom. 1:811). In this message he challenged them to serve with humility and love.

Thank you, Mairdie.
I have been MIA for the past 6 or 8 months. Seems that if and when I get here, I don’t get anything else done.
I have several great graphics and poems stored in my archives. I need to come here more often and share them.

Powerful Baby
November 3, 2017
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? . . . But I trust in your unfailing love.
Psalm 13:1, 5
The first time I saw him, I cried. He looked like a perfect newborn asleep in his crib. But we knew he would never wake up. Not until he was in the arms of Jesus.
He clung to life for several months. Then his mother told us of his death in a heart-wrenching email. She wrote of that deep, deep pain that groans inside you. Then she said, How deeply God carved His work of love into our hearts through that little life! What a powerful life it was!
Powerful? How could she say that?
This familys precious little boy showed themand usthat we must depend on God for everything. Especially when things go horribly wrong! The hard yet comforting truth is that God meets us in our pain. He knows the grief of losing a Son.
In our deepest pain, we turn to the songs of David because he writes out of his own grief. How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? he asked (Ps. 13:2). Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death (v. 3). Yet David could give his biggest questions to God. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation (v. 5).
Only God can bring ultimate significance to our most tragic events.
Where do I turn when a crisis hits me? Do I ever get angry with God when facing grief and loss? Am I afraid to share my true emotions with Him? Have I ever asked God for His peace?
God can do the most with what we think is least.
We may be surprised to hear a cry of abandonment coming from David, a man who knew God intimately. Psalm 13 describes Davids struggle. He was threatened by powerful enemies and distressed by Gods seeming prolonged apathy and absence, feeling forsaken in the time of his greatest need. How long, Lord? he asks. David questioned if God would ever come to his rescue (vv. 12). Even as he felt the sting of abandonment, David turned his turmoil over to God, asking Him for a deeper understanding of his circumstances (vv. 34). Anchoring himself in Gods unfailing covenantal love, David renews his trust in God (vv. 56).
Like David, you may be going through a rough patch, engulfed by feelings of dread and abandonment. God may seem silent, but He is never absent. Scripture confirms He will never leave or forsake anyone who calls on Him (Heb. 13:56).
