The wreck of a German submarine that sank during World War One has been found in the North Sea and officials believe 23 bodies may be inside it.
The type UB-II submarine is said to be in good condition, lying at a depth of 30m (100ft) off the Belgian coast.
"The submarine is in such good condition that we reckon all the bodies are still on board," said West Flanders Governor Carl Decaluwé.
The vessel is thought to have been sunk by a mine.
Mr Decaluwé told reporters on Tuesday that the location of the wreck was being kept under wraps to prevent people going near it and to stop the submarine being looted or damaged.

1.) If it wasn’t, Kopechne would have been on “Unsolved Mysteries”, and “The Swimmer” would have been president.
2.) Technically, it was his Nazi-loving mother’s Oldsmobile Delmont.

I had a neighbor that was a USCG, and one of his stories was about a sub that went down on a training mission just before the US entered WWII, and didn't come back up. He was adamant that it wasn't the Squalus. (He'd met some of the survivors in Kittery/Portsmouth.)
Sure enough, the US Navy reactivated a number of WWI-era boats for training, and the O-9 was the last of three O-boats that day to do a practice dive, and was lost.
He was assigned to a cutter at the time, and it went out to the rescue attempt.

You gotta think that some Redneck Militia Guy was fishing and saw it splash, changed to a big treble hook and went dragging, hooked it and has that Broken Arrow stashed in the Barn waiting for some Ruski to start something. I wonder was lb test was for the line he used?

And think how they lived.
No modern kitchen, limited fresh water for drinking and none for bathing, wear the same clothes day after day until they stood upright on their own, willing to sell your soul for ten minutes top side just to get fresh air.
They were appropriately called pig boats.

Crick, holler, yonder, reckon, ain’t (sometimes) ... some mountain people here still sound a lot like Euros, since they tend to keep to themselves.
After all this time, I’ll bet those Heines will be glad to get out of that tin can.
