Son makes my night!
After taking my dog for walk I returned home to find my 24 year old son watching the Lions play the Giants. He proceeds to tell me about an outrageous and obnoxious Commercial for the Gap. "It was a black guy and an over the top transgender dude in a fake dark wig singing." He looks the commercial up on YouTube and plays it for me.
The video labeled "Bridging the GAP" begins and the "Tranny" my son is disgusted by is CHER!! He sincerely has no idea who she is or was.
What a great night!
well Levis are running gay supporting commercials now (They’ve been pushing a gay agenda for awhile now- but saw a commercial the other day with a gay supporting theme in it- done buying levis)- so now all my jeans are wrangler-
Sonny is spinning like a dynamo
I stopped buying Levis when I discovered that they support gun grabbers.
HA HA!
and yes, Cher does look like a tranny, always did
talent, yes she had some talent
(tho I never cared much for their act, just a personal thing i guess)
She can ruin her children and make them dysfunctional without autotune.
You must be proud. Sounds like you raised him right. Imagine the heartbroken fathers who walked in to hear their son expand on how Cher looks compared to her earlier work, and saying how much he admires her!
That was my belly laugh of the day!
Cher would probably consider the confusion as a compliment.
didn’t know about that- yet another reason to drop them- thanks for pointing that out
Your son lived 24 years without ever having been exposed to Cher? That’s a pretty good run.
“- so now all my jeans are wrangler- “
I thought that Levis=homo, Wrangler=straight thing was obvious about 10 years ago.
I was born 1953, so as a member {Boomer Generations} in good standing, or more importantly, still standing above ground, as opposed to below ground:
Just what is it, that Cher will be known for, 83 years from now?
Mae West was / is best known for her line "Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just glad / happy to see me."
It's from the 1933 film, She done him wrong, starring Mae West and Cary Grant. Mae actually says, "Is that a pistol in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me"

In my humble opinion, at best Cher will be remembered for is the night Sonny & Cher appeared on Late Night with David Letterman.
On November 13, 1987, ten years after their divorce, Sonny and Cher appeared on Late Night with David Letterman. The duo stopped by for an interview and to sing their hit I Got You Babe.

Lol! Another funny Cher story was when one day early in the morning her limo pulled up to a pharmacy or something and a guy recognized the person in the limo so went over to pay some respect.
“I love you Howard, I listen to your show every day, Mr. Stern, you’re the greatest!”
And then the way he tells the story later, how she SQUEAKED in that way she does, Cher was all “You thought I was a MA-AN!?! You thought I was a MAN?!?” So funny.
Are you sure that’s Cher? I thought it was Morticia Addams.
That's a wonderful commercial by the way. I love it. I thought the baby was a girl though.
I never saw what anyone of that period saw in her. Oh and I also thought she was fat and ugly so how did she get a reputation as a 'sex symbol'? That always kind of nonplussed me.
