John Edwards will love her.
The election of Trump compelled her to say that. /s
Tell me about it. When my wife’s water broke my daughter’s umbilical cord came out first. It took 28 minutes from the time her water broke until the time she was born. I live in a rural community 15 miles from the hospital and no ambulance service.
Daughter, a Granddaughter and Great Grandson would not be here if not for C Sections, not a cake walk especially in 71, no Bikini slices then.
I think she is entitled to joke about it if she wants to. It is not as if she had not had a c-section and was criticizing mothers who did.
Exactly. People can’t take ANY type of joke any more.
When I was in recovery, I was told my son would have died and I might not have made it either, if I hadn’t been in the hospital and had an emergency c-section. I had been in labor for 40 hours and there was absolutely no progress and they were going about to give me pitocin when his heart slowed and came close to stopping. He was trussed in his umbilical cord, 3 times around his neck and 3 times around his body. DO NOT EVER PRETEND THAT C-SECTIONS AREN’T NECESSARY! And trust me, I do not feel less of a mother because he was born through surgery. Period.
That said, I also suspect that she is correct, and than more than a few are done as a convenience and not out of medical necessity, and it seems hers was.
She would not still have a modeling career if she had not.
“Perhaps this showbiz nobody should attend medical school before making such comments.C-Sections are absolutely essential in some situations in order to ensure the well being of mother and/or child.”
Yes, but that is not what she is referring to.
This is quite an honest comment on her part.
“I think she is entitled to joke about it if she wants to. It is not as if she had not had a c-section and was criticizing mothers who did. “
Exactly. At first I thought she was criticizing women who had had C-sections after herself giving birth. That was what the headline implied.
Very different when she is referring to herself for having one.
What a flippin’ moron.
But more and more they are not done for medical necessity but for either the mother or doctor’s convenience.
You're in violation of Internet Code of Regulations Title 17, Part 3, Section C, Paragraph 4, "Thou shalt not consider the context of a statement made by someone you don't like."
So why all the upset? That’s her opinion. So what? What’s with all the eternal outrage? It’s not like her opinion changes anything. Do people think she’s going to interfere in deliveries or argue in the OR with Obstetricians or something. Jeez. Find a real issue to stress over.
Blast you FReepers! Where are the pics?
C-sections are promoted by obstetric docs generally for the convenience of the doctor. The number of c-sections that are medically indicated compared to the number that ate actually performed, motly for the convenience of the doctor but now more and more also for the convenience of the mother is very large. C-section in many hospitals is the normal method of birth. My daughter and her husband went to Peru to have my grandson mostly because it was cheaper than staying in the USA but partly because at 6 weeks she was already getting pressured to schedule a c-section. in Peru they went with a mid-wife and I have one exceedingly healthy grandson.
In many more, she's probably right. I have always thought it myself.
