The anticipation for week one of the college football season can only be surpassed by the overreactions to week one of the college football season. LOL, Tom Herman hype. Sam Darnold and No. 4 Southern California? Overrated. Florida? No quarterback. North Carolina State? Already a disappointment. Most teams have played one game so far. Relax. The only thing we know for sure: Alabama is really good again, and losing to game to the top-ranked might have been the second-worst thing that happened to No. 3 Florida State.

However, RTR.
RTR!
The Seminoles defense was superb, or the score woulda been much-more to seven. The stats were dead even, save the game changing turnovers and blocked kicks. The FSU offensive line is still offensive...too many sacks and three blocked kicks in the last two games. No championship for you Jimbo!
UF has next to nothing for offense. FSU has the Keystone Cops for special teams. Longhorns are the worst disaster however, inexplicable how a program of that stature is so bad, and for years now.
Schadenfreude was the exact word I used when the Terps beat UT.
Hated to see Francois go down like that. Hate it for any player.
Gamecocks found their D yesterday, let’s see if they can slow down MIZZOU next week.
Sure, it was Charleston Southern, an FCS school, with a new head coach, but I've seen TMSU play horrible against such opponents.
The Mississippi State University plays Louisiana Tech next week, before playing a HUGE game at Davis-Wade Stadium against LSU on September 16.
Heisman candidate Nick Fitzgerald is already getting notice as perhaps the best QB in the SEC. Look for him in New York this coming December.
But the Trojans scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter and won 49-31. That doesn't sound very "overrated."
That does not bode well, as WMU had lost its excellent young coach at the end of last season. They're the third best team in the state of Michigan, and a far away third.
Not a good first game, just hope the poll voters don't know how close this game really was against a MAC mid major that isn't all that good.
Yup.
I didn't see any improvement from the last game of last season (Clemson).
Jalen Hurts still can't pass.
There was a point where I thought we may see the new lefty QB, Tua Tagovailoa.
Michigan should have won 45-3.
Florida needs a new coach. At least with a new AD, he should do a better job at finding one than the last guy.
And Baylor lost to Liberty University!!!!!!!!
Karma is a bitch, ain’t it?
Can we have Muschamp back?
Did anyone notice that the Indiana - Ohio State game on Thursday night was opened with the National Anthem as well as a flyover? It was great to see that again!
Remember USC started slow last year. They lost the season opener to Alabama, 52-6 and Alabama had a rookie, freshman QB.
I told my husband that this is McElwain’s last year, and he thought I meant of his contract. I told him Gainesville won’t put up with this kind of performance for long. I won’t be surprised to see him be fired in mid-season. He barely scraped by last year.
But......but.......he’s the first coach to win the SEC East his first two seasons, don’cha know.
Look, the SEC East the last few years has been at about the same level as the MAC.
Florida really did not have a chance to win this with its top receiver and top runnng back suspended. And their quarterbacks were not sufficiently experienced.
And that's on the Coach.
McElwain was specifically chosen because he was an "offensive" guy who could fix the problems we had under Muschamp. And now in his third year, we look even WORSE than under Muschamp, and I didn't think that was possible.
When your only touchdowns are scored by your defense, you know your offense is in BAD shape.
