The high point of the game for Bama was its special teams play. The defense looked better in the 2nd half, but the offense was not moving the ball. The score should have been more like 40 - 7, but the Tide failed to capitalize of the special teams gifts and interceptions.

However, RTR.

The Seminoles defense was superb, or the score woulda been much-more to seven. The stats were dead even, save the game changing turnovers and blocked kicks. The FSU offensive line is still offensive...too many sacks and three blocked kicks in the last two games. No championship for you Jimbo!

"...but the offense was not moving the ball."

Yup.

I didn't see any improvement from the last game of last season (Clemson).

Jalen Hurts still can't pass.

There was a point where I thought we may see the new lefty QB, Tua Tagovailoa.

My take on Alabama’s play:

1. D-line was superb
2. Special teams were superb
3. O-line was good, but needs work
4. Defensive secondary in the first half looked like Saban had had the best recruiting season ever in France. Adjustments were made at half-time, and the secondary played progressively better until it started looking like Alabama.
5. QB...I think Saban got bored with winning so easily years ago and, to make his job more interesting, decided to show fans that Alabama can win without a QB. Hurts doesn’t throw well and couldn’t run much against FSU. The best that can be said of him is that he didn’t fumble the ball. Unless he “blossoms”, I would say that he wouldn’t even be a good FCS QB. Carson Wentz was better than any Tide QB in recent memory. Urban Meyer is a great coach and even condescends to recruit great QBs, along with other great players. I think Alabama is going to have a hard time against teams in the playoffs, if the Tide gets that far. Of course, the Tide ought to be a National Champion this year, like last, but the weakness at QB makes that problematic.
