There is a national tragedy sweeping across America, and it promptly needs to come to an end.
For some inexplicable reason, American entertainment outlets think male consumers are entertained by “plus-sized” models. They’re not. Trust me when I say that there’s a reason men read the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine, and it has nothing to do with the seemingly unending supply of bigger models.
Naturally, I’m not suggesting that obese women are bad people. Obviously that’s not the case, and it’d be a lazy critique of my argument to even attempt to boil it down to that.
My point is very simple. Men love football, alcohol and the women in bikinis that they don’t see walking around the town. If I can look out the windows of my office building and see six people similar to a woman featured in Sports Illustrated, then put simply, that woman has no business being in Sports Illustrated.
SI’s Instagram account recently featured Tabria Majors, who is a “plus-sized” model.

Very rich fat men are sexy.
Being significantly overweight is extremely unhealthy, it should not be encouraged or glamourized.
Usually you see them in swimsuits, near the water, like in Sports Illustrated. The water helps their stubby legs support their immense weight.

I totally agree with this fellow. This is really a trend that goes beyond just SI using “plus sized” swimsuit models. It is a whole trend of using physically unattractive people in ads and I agree it needs to stop.
And I’m not just talking fat or frumpy. There’s an ad for online quickbooks that maybe some here have seen, it features some young fellow with messed up hair (I’d say harry potter hair but that would be too kind). Not only is he not handsome (he’s not hideous, but he’s NOT handsome), he looks like a goofball and you can’t imagine what business he has that he needs QB for.
My local bank has billboards around town, I forget what the slogans all say, but one something about helping your business that has a picture of a guy who looks like a low level gangster. This is in New Jersey!
Awful, they are all awful and they make me want to not buy whatever it is they are selling.
I don’t know about “Politically Correct” but if they get something right, fine, I’m not going to crap on it just because it’s politically correct.
Most women, beautiful women, are not stick-figures that can pass for boys...and if you research how stick-figures *became* models you’ll realize: THAT wasn’t about beauty, it was about mobile coat-hangers that look a bit like mannikins.
I quite enjoy looking at beautiful women, and if they’re overweight, that’s because the damned insurance charts used to determine who’s overweight is screwed up beyond any acceptable reality.

OMG, I just realized why they do it. The third worlders and the blacks like’em “thick” and that’s who they want to buy the magazine, so that’s why you’re getting girls with some “back” upin there.

Agreed. JMOHO, but I have yet to see the woman (or man, for that matter) whose looks were improved by them. I think they’ve damaged the overall appearance and attractiveness of some.
A body can get them if they want them. Don’t let me get in the way!

I think it's in general because conservatives are more optimistic. Not sure, but it's one theory.

I think the hate and indignation in their soul effects what we observe in their appearance. Just as the good spirit in a conservative woman is filled with Grace and Beauty. You can even see it in a very elderly or heavyset spirit filled woman.

Please, she is absolutely stunning. She has curves, which I think most men like; but she is in no way obese or even fat.
Btw, sounds like you have a gorgeous daughter. Keep an eye on her. Or better yet, be cleaning your guns when her suitors come to call. ;)
