One of the most melodic guitar solos from a master of the strings, Tom Sholtz.

Beautiful, haunting song. I was 17 the year came out... I still remember figuring this solo out on the guitar.

Still as amazing as it was then.

Don’t Look Back was a great album. Good music all the way through.

One of my favorites.

Played the Hell out of the vinyl... scratched it crap figuring out the guitar solos, dragging the needle across it...

Those were good days for music.

Great album. Great band. Unique sound.

After he was done with Boston, Brad Delph had a Beatles tribute band called Beatlejuice up here in New England, and it was pretty apparent it was a labor of love for him.

I liked a lot of Beatles music, and I went to see them every time I heard they were around. I would like to think, hearing Beatlejuice live in those bars and clubs had to be the closet thing to seeing the Beatles live...especially when they played the edgier, more rock and less pop songs of the Beatles earlier days.

It was loud and energetic! And the vocals sounded just like the Beatles. He did have talent.

Yep...early Seventies into early Eighties was best, IMO.

Great song- I wish there were more early live versions available on Youtube-

The last few last verse and chorus are outstanding with the keyboards. And great vocals to boot.

One of the lousiest and overrated pop rock bands ever. I never could stand any Boston they played on the radio in the 80s. It was all just unlistenable with those cheesy guitars and exaggerated high vocals. I always thought of Boston as a parody of a rock band, but Spinal Tap actually was a fantastic parody of the rock n roll lifestyle, making Boston just look and sound like a bunch of wannabe schlubs.

I’ve added everyone that post so far to my heavy metal / rock n roll ping list I have recently started. You can see it on my profile page.

Yep, this was one of the tracks on the Don't Look Back LP that I repeated more than some of the radio hits. Funny, I've been binging on Barry Goudreau's music lately, particularly the stuff featuring Brad and Sib. They recorded some solid tunes in the years between Boston albums 2 and 3 (I don't think Tom was pleased).

This version of A Man I’ll Never Be - from September 27th, 1976 at the Agora, Cleveland is my favorite by far. Brad Delp’s singing and range is truly awesome.

Please add me to your metal/rock ping list. While I wouldn’t classify myself as a metal head exactly, I appreciate it, and have played in local rock bands all my life (I’m 65, and just got back from doing an outdoor show tonight).

Thanks, dayglored

Very nice. I didn’t realize that they performed a “developmental” version of this song two full years before it was released on a record. Lots of interesting differences.
