Fast Forward ^ | 7/17/17 | Ari Feldman

Archaeologists funded by Christian organizations are taking a shovel — again — to Tel Shiloh, an archaeological site that was a major center of worship for ancient Israelites.

They’re looking for the ark of the covenant, the holy chest containing the two stone tablets on which Moses is said to have written the Ten Commandments, which was stationed at the ancient city of Shiloh for 400 years.

I think there are two likely possibilities.

First, the Babylonians took it and simply destroyed it for the gold etc.

The second and to me, most likely is the Priests knowing it would be taken, hid it. It probably will never be found or maybe has been found by Romans etc. who would have done the same thing as the Babylonians.

There is a pretty good argument that the ark was taken from the temple long before the Babylonians arrived.

Now where it went from there....

Ebed-melech the Ethiopian eunuch who rescued Jeremiah from the pit, took it to Ethiopia while disguised as a traveling merchant, so the Babylonians would not bother him..........................

They’re looking for the ark of the covenant, the holy chest containing the two stone tablets on which Moses is said to have written the Ten Commandments, which was stationed at the ancient city of Shiloh for 400 years.

When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebed-Melech

From Wiki:

Ebed-Melech (e-bed-me’-lek, Hebrew: Latin: Abdemelech) is mentioned in the Book of Jeremiah chapter 38 as an Ethiopian official at the palace of king Zedekiah of Judah during the Siege of Jerusalem. The name is translated as Servant of the King, and as such may not be his proper name but a hereditary title. The text relates that he was an Ethiopian (Jeremiah 38:7) and a eunuch. [1]

Ebed-Melech is notable for rescuing the prophet Jeremiah from the cistern into which he had been cast to his death (Jeremiah 38:4–13). Later Jeremiah relayed God’s message to him saying that he, Ebed-Melech, would “not fall by the sword” during the Fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians (Jer 39:15–18) because he had put his trust in Him (God). According to some extra-biblical legends this extended to Ebed-Melech never dying, instead joining the small group of holy people who enter Heaven while still alive.

The issue with the ark is that if you desecrated it with unclean hands...the ark killed you!. It’s probably hidden some place if God himself has not taken it off the Earth.

Why?

…15”Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.

16”It shall be in those days when you are multiplied and increased in the land,” declares the LORD, “they will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of the LORD.’ And it will not come to mind, nor will they remember it, nor will they miss it, nor will it be made again.

17”At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘The Throne of the LORD,’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Jerusalem, for the name of the LORD; nor will they walk anymore after the stubbornness of their evil heart.…

31”Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.…
