Was already found by Ron Wyman (?) in the 1980s. The Israeli govt knows all about it, the blood on the crack covering the stone slab on the seat was tested. Probably already removed by now. Detailed analysis and story back on his website back in the 90s. He also found Noah’s ark in turkey which was recognized by the Turkish govt. others follow along and claim they found it.

See that the website vastly changed. Ron Wyatt is no longer with us, but in the 1990s the website had detailed reports of the discoveries. Now it’s all packaged for sale via dvd... Maybe the way back machine has something. It was fascinating. I printed it all out back then and will have to check my files. Wyatt reportedly found the arc of the covenant in the 1980s.
The most ancient Jewish manuscripts indicate THE Temple Menorah had straight diagonal branches rather than rounded ones.
The menorah on the Arch would have been some secondary creation, not the original design. Perhaps the original was hidden, like the Ark. But the one taken to Rome is still pretty cool.

Inside the heart (levav, לבב) of David is the letter bet, which is a house (the letter bet is בית, a house). The first and last letters of levav still spell heart, לב lev. It's like playing with refrigerator magnets. You know how they end up, plastered on the lower part of the fridge door so the kiddies can reach them. As far as I have been able to ascertain,
... citations for straight-armed Menorah arms seem to all go back to Maimonides’ little 6 by ten centimeter hand sketch in his Mishna Torah. The drawing COULD have been meant as an accurate portrayal in all respects, but its very small size, marginality, and certain textual contents indicate it could have just been a quickish sort of schematic of key outline features and NOT necessarily meant as a fully accurate ‘architectural rendering’ of every detail such as curvature of the arms, etc. Its anyone’s guess what Maimonides meant by his little sketch, imho.
Speaking of Maimodines, he regularly prayed at the synagogue in Cairo (after his move there)..where a significant geniza (collection of used prayer and other books, manuscripts, etc...) was found in 1890. In that collection, which included some hand-written letters by Maimonides himself, there was a Hebrew school text containing pictures of the Jewish Temple implements including the Menorah. The text dated from the century before Maimonides and its Menorah has round arms. The Menorah on Domitian’s Arch of Titus, erected in 82CE (very shortly after Titus sacked the Jewish Temple in 70) clearly shows rounded arms. Most scholars believe this to have been intended as a representation of the Temple Menorah despite its lack of ‘feet’..since the entire Arch monument commemorates Titus’ destruction of the Temple and looting of its contents including, of course, the Temple Menorah. I believe that the weight of opinion is for round arms, but scholars cannot pin it down with absolute certainty and there are some that still think maybe the original Menorah may have had straight arms. Most rabbis, I believe, say that either design is probably acceptable for the Third Jewish Temple to come.

It is buried in a chamber that was made for it by King Solomon. It was taken from the Holy of Holies (where it rested on top of the Foundation Stone) at the orders of King Josiah (”Yoshiyahu” in transliterated Hebrew). This was done NOT in haste, but at a time when the people of Judah (and, thus, the Temple Mount and the Ark) were safe. He was King from 641 BCE through 609 BCE, with his reign ending more than 20 years before the destruction of the Temple by the Babylonians.
Note that leading Jewish scholars over the years have come to the conclusion that the 1st Temple was constructed so that the Ark would have 2 possible resting places - first, the public one in the Holy of Holies (which was not really public, as only the High Priest would see it - covered - and only on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement) and, second, in a hidden location in deep maze-like vaults designed specifically for it by Solomon. Why? Because the consecration/validity of the Temple was dependent upon the presence of God, which was only manifest between the cherubim (cherubs) on top of the Ark. No Ark, no valid Temple. This means the the Ark HAD to be present - even though not in the Holy of Holies - during the time of the 2nd Temple. There is simply no way that the prophets of the time would have allowed the 2nd Temple to have even been started, let alone consecrated and used, without the Ark being there.
Here is my speculation:
The Babylonians, who destroyed the 1st Temple and carried off what treasures they found, did not ever claim to have the Ark. The Romans, who destroyed the 2nd Temple and carried off what treasures they found, did not ever claim to have the Ark, nor does any memorial of theirs (specifically, the Arch of Titus) show anything like the Ark. So, neither empire got hold of it...which strongly suggests that the only other possibility (besides it being hidden under Temple Mount, that is) is the Ethiopian story that Menelik, one of Solomon’s sons, carried it back to Sheba. That is pretty unlikely - does anyone seriously think that someone like Solomon - who was very smart, very rich and powerful, and deemed by God Himself to be pious enough to build the Temple - would just let something like the Ark go? I don’t think so - it wasn’t exactly an easy object to handle, having killed people who inadvertently touched it. You didn’t just go and grab it (from a guarded place, no less), toss it in a wagon and hightail it out of there - you had to exercise extreme care (and, if it was so holy, you would WANT to do so, even without the risk of being killed for touching it).
So...no to the Babylonians, no to the Romans and almost certainly no to the Ethiopians, leaving only the Jews. Add to the weight of the evidence that there was an extensive amount of prophecy available to lots of people (and certainly to all of the Biblical prophets of the era), so they would have KNOWN that it needed to be hidden to be kept safe. I’m going with that conclusion until someone proves otherwise.
