When Kathy Griffin posed for a photoshoot holding a fake decapitated, bloody head of President Donald Trump in June, she likely didn’t think about the wide-reaching implications of her so-called “joke.”
While her controversial stunt resulted in some serious professional consequences, it also earned her a lengthy visit from the U.S. Secret Service.
Secret Service agents reportedly tracked down Griffin and interviewed her in person for more than an hour. Further, the investigation into the bloody head debacle remains open.
Griffin’s attorney, Dmitry Gorin, has claimed the comedian was merely exercising her “First Amendment rights to tell a joke.”
“When you look at everything in the media, all the times entertainers make videos or express themselves in other ways, you’ve never seen an entertainer, let alone a comedian, be subject to a criminal investigation,” the attorney added.
Even though the investigation is ongoing, it’s unlikely that Griffin will actually be arrested over the crude photo.

I also graduated high school with a very good actress, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. She's one of the reasons I became an actor. I was a year behind Dan Castellaneta, he's the voice of Homer Simpson, but a very good actor too. Ernist Hemingway was a OPRF grad, but way before my time.
Yeah, I remember her in The Abyss. Good actress. Good movie, too.
Wish they had arrested Griffin, that wasn’t free speech, that was terrorist speech.
You’re very blessed to have gone to school with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, think she’s a great actress. Speaking of acting, been in anything I or my family might have seen?
I’m happy they are talking with her. They are also going through her contact list and her emails and her social media. It’s quite likely a very embarrassing interrogation for her as there are questions she’d rather not answer, but must in order to avoid charges.
If she had done the same thing with His Arrogance, relatives would still be trying to get the body back from DOJ (Eric The Corrupt)!

If they were serious they would interrogate her like the friend of the Boston Marathon bomber. What interrogation was what - about 12 hours? and the friend ended up dead.
Darn. And I’d hoped that we’d never hear/read her name again...
