After 4 Special Election Losses, Panic Is Setting In On The Left
vox.com ^ | Jun 22, 2017

Jon Ossoff’s loss in Georgia’s Sixth Congressional election on Tuesday isn’t just a disappointment for liberals. It’s a bright red warning sign, a blaring siren that should alert Democrats everywhere that they will not take back Congress without a radical change in direction.

It looked to some like the party could retake at least one branch in Congress in 2018 just by staying the course. “I don’t think Democrats want a new direction,” House Minority Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on CBS Face the Nation the week after the election.

But since then, Democrats have lost four straight special elections in races for Congress. Top party leaders are defending those losses as representing improvements on the party's baseline. But they at least to appear to suggest that winning the House will be harder than it first seemed. And panic is beginning to seep in.

Pelosi is too toxic, Rep. Filemon Vela of Texas, first elected to Congress in 2012, told Vox on Wednesday.

“To me it’s real simple: The perception of leader Pelosi is so negative that we are not going to be able to walk away from that,” Vela said. “In order to take the House majority back you have to be able to win swing districts ... the perceptions of the leader are so entrenched, they’re not going to change, and the Republican Party is going to continue to spend millions and millions of dollars to tie the leader, who is very unpopular, to those areas.”

If you get rid of the dead voters in Chicago, a democrat will never again win Illinois.

The key word in the headline is “Left”. The left should always lose, and the American people are not leftists. The left must be defeated.

Ya, I thought these liberals were all about getting women into power and all that.

Yes, but only corrupt women.

The problem for dems is that even if they moved to the center nobody believes it is real. Ossof ran as a conservative in his ads.....but had rabid lefties cheering him on.

People are sick of the double cross.....even with the rinos of our party.

You purge Pelosi in today’s dem party you are going to get someone even farther to the left. That is all they have left in people who have run for office....they purged all the conservative dems. They are pretty much cooked, they either convince Americans Marxism and corruption is the new American dream or keep dying as a party.

You may be right, they may feel desperate enough to run Kamala Harris, but I do believe deep down that they have been preparing Terry McAuliffe (governor of Virginia) to run, “it’s his turn.”

The left has been focus grouping him and his strengths and weaknesses for about a year now — Whether to tie him to Obama or not...Talk about his relationship with the Clinton’s or not, this is all very calculated.

Watch for them to trot him out in early 2018 in Iowa, if the left does that, you know he is their guy.

The bottom line with him is, they won’t be able to run away from his rabid anti 2nd amendment views...He will lose all the states that Trump won, even if Pence is running for president and Trump.

That is just my opinion.

To have any relevancy at all the demonrats need to get rid of MUCH more than Pelosi! But then they would self annihilate and crumble into fly ash from clean coal power plants-winning!

I don’t necessarily disagree with your analysis. I think there are two wings of the democrat party; the leftist pragmatists (Clinton wing) and the leftist ideologues (Sanders wing). The ideologues would back Harris while the pragmatists would back McAuliffe. Sometimes the ideologues select the candidate, and sometimes the pragmatists do.

We’ll see in 2018 who has the upper hand.

The Congressional Black Caucus will demand the new leader be b(l)ack

Ideal combo would be Ellison and Waters. Start grooming them now dems. Campaign ads from BLM, Sharpton and Farrakhan will do your party wonders. Start now - what are you waiting for?

The Democrats are such an idiotic group.

They go against everything Americans stand for, and when they keep losing they double down for what,... the 25th time?

Here it is, what their grand scheme is still paying off, this time in Georgia.

.....”Progressing through the 4 or 5 stages of defeat. There has been a long denial stage”.....

They’re combative and defensive now...and I suspect will remain there for awhile yet. And a couple more loses might shake some of those still hanging on to the process itself...(as victims)......but on the whole they’re just unwilling to let go of their fantasies ..and the will does have much to do with why they keep getting stuck.

How much longer until the radicals in America decide that it’s simply too dangerous to allow conservatives to vote???

They are deep down totalitarians and the first thing a totalitarian wants is to shut up it’s critics. If shutting them up doesn’t work, disenfranchisement follows. If disenfranchisement doesn’t work, repression follows. If repression doesn’t work, concentration camps follow. If concentration camps don’t work... well you get the idea...

Blood will have to be spilled before it’s over, I fear.
