After 4 Special Election Losses, Panic Is Setting In On The Left
vox.com ^ | Jun 22, 2017

Jon Ossoff’s loss in Georgia’s Sixth Congressional election on Tuesday isn’t just a disappointment for liberals. It’s a bright red warning sign, a blaring siren that should alert Democrats everywhere that they will not take back Congress without a radical change in direction.

It looked to some like the party could retake at least one branch in Congress in 2018 just by staying the course. “I don’t think Democrats want a new direction,” House Minority Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on CBS Face the Nation the week after the election.

But since then, Democrats have lost four straight special elections in races for Congress. Top party leaders are defending those losses as representing improvements on the party's baseline. But they at least to appear to suggest that winning the House will be harder than it first seemed. And panic is beginning to seep in.

Pelosi is too toxic, Rep. Filemon Vela of Texas, first elected to Congress in 2012, told Vox on Wednesday.

“To me it’s real simple: The perception of leader Pelosi is so negative that we are not going to be able to walk away from that,” Vela said. “In order to take the House majority back you have to be able to win swing districts ... the perceptions of the leader are so entrenched, they’re not going to change, and the Republican Party is going to continue to spend millions and millions of dollars to tie the leader, who is very unpopular, to those areas.”

The democrats are the “Party of Lenin” and they have gone the way his party did in the Brezhnev Era; just a bunch of old apparatchiks holding power while their edifice crumbles.

Excellent analogy

Progressing through the 4 or 5 stages of defeat. There has been a long denial stage.

I guess the shooting of Scalise signaled the onset of the "anger" stage.

The reason they are sticking with Pelosi is because any change will result in instant civil war.

Yay! Never was there a more deserving gang of baby killers.

You got that right. The Congressional Black Caucus will demand the new leader be back. The Hispanics will want a Hispanic. Likewise the LGBTXYZ gang. As you said, it would be an instant civil war.

Easy, a black lesbian woman with a Hispanic surname...

Should do it.

Talented political leaders that meet those requirements are available in every county!

Sadly, the single best asset the R’s have right now is the complete incompetence & arrogance of the D/lib leadership.

Without the Establishment media, academia, and Hollywood, the Left has nothing.

What President Trump showed is that those institutions no longer have the power they once did. Their power is in decline, and the Left’s power is declining with it.

The perception of leader Pelosi is so negative that we are not going to be able to walk away from that

Still making excuses and believing that slight corrections will solve their problems. If Pelosi resigned today, we would still be able to hear and see the unending immoral stupidity of the Dems on Twtter and Facebook every day.

The problem isn't Pelosi. The problem is that they all publicly sound and think like her, so what difference if she is gone?

I think 2018 will tell the story. If the the GOPe picks up seats in the midterm then I think the dims are in real profound trouble. At that point it will be true panic time and I assume that’s when they will go the domestic terror route if they haven’t started already.

Using old Nancy as a scapegoat. The Dems problems are much deeper than Nancy Pelosi, she’s just the face.

The Democratic Party of the KKK is doomed. Like a great old colossus let it fall! In its place a Labor Party and the Socialists. Likewise the Republican Party should spit out it’s country club liberal Rinos.

Whats the definition of insanity? Doing the same things over and again but expecting different results. So with the Dems being raving lunatics will they force out old Nanners? NOT happening-— We get to continually enjoy the old bat with free entertainment value.

Trump & the GOP should pursue with great stamina & vigor keeping New Jersey in the Red (Governor) and winning in Virginia (Governorship)!!! Both are long shots...but worth the money, effort & elbow grease!!! If Trump can take both New Jersey and Virginia...he will have in effect, killed off the Democrat Party for the next twenty years!!! Virginia & New Jersey are so full of illegal voters...it ought to easy to identify them and nullify their voting rights. Democrats have been falsely winning elections for years with illegal voters casting ballots by the millions!!!

On more thing I think the Republican Party is on death watch as well unless it adopts President Trump’s pro American agenda.

The Democrats (and the Republicans) have a real problem. The Democratic party has been a coalition of unions, minority groups, people on public handouts, people who are quite liberal, some independent legacy voters, and run by an elite that is all for enriching themselves.

In the past they have used bribery of various forms and triangulation to keep the group together.

In this last election cycle where the elite rigged the primary elections for Hillary and against Sanders, the Democrat elites destroyed the coalition in a way that it can not be put back together.

Republicans came close when the party elite and major donors refused to back either Trump or Cruiz hoping that a more “traditional Republican” would get the party nomination.

The Democratic Party is dead as the leaders will not surrender control to others and because without trust the coalition can never be rebuilt.
